City v Bristol City 1st leg post match

What annoys me most about Mangala, is the fact that up and down this country there are young footballers plying their trade as apprentices as the various football academies. Many of whom sadly, will never make it as a professional or given a contract.

Then there in Batmangala...!

There really are some smacked arses on here. If I were just reading this board and didnt watch the game I would be under the impression that we were awful and were lucky to not have taken a hiding.

It was a cracking game of football, Bristol turned in a performance that not so long ago we would have been delighted with. Credit where its due to them, and I must admit to feeling a tad sorry for them conceding a winner so late having to a man run their bollocks off and defended fantastically well.

Lets have it right though City deserved the win, yes wasteful finishing and the considerable effort made by Alty Taylor probably did much to keep the tie alive despite Bristols fine efforts.

The shit being given out to some of our players is truly inexplicable. Clearly Yaya is finished and its hard to see Mangala cutting it..that said he has put in some decent shifts recently. The defence today would have kept a clean sheet were it not for a brainless tackle that would have had a Sunday manager at Hough end going ape and that was Stones. He probably needed these cup games before Liverpool and hopefully the couple of bollock drops are now out of his system.

Whats the moanfest about Sane. I thought Bristol defended well against him, closed him down quickly in numbers and blocked alot of his passes or shots. Sane is still a young pleayer with much to learn...he learned some of it tonight, but to say he was shit tonight is absolute nonsense.

Bernado seems to be taking flak, again a young player who probably hasnt come up against the kind of opposition he faced tonight. He didnt do bad tonight and his cross for the winner shows what he can do, again a player who may well take alot from this evening.

Gundogan might not have hit the highs he has reached in the past but the injuries have been a major inteference, he was frustrating tonight but hardly the donkey that some are making out.

As for Bravo, he did nothing wrong tonight and like a few have said has played very well when called upon this season.

Just maybe the manager who is desperately trying to do the near impossible and winning all that we are in for picked a team good enough to make sure we go both into the second leg and Anfield in the best shape to remain unbeaten in the League and secure a Wembley Cup Final over the next couple of weeks and should be trusted a little more by some of this parish!

Hard to believe that we just won a first leg of a semi final and as a result will go to the second leg with the advantage despite being away and people are moaning as if we had just dropped points in a relegation battle.

Pep knows the team are still learning, he knows that players must come in to keep improving the team and squad and I am sure he will be bringing those players in when he is able to and feels it is appropriate to do so.

Well done blues and well done Bristol for making a great contest of it.

Fantastic post.

Excellent post - all those ready to throw most of the team out for winning by just a goal and not 6-0 need to read this.

Tbf some posts on here have been decent but you sir can definitely put what I can’t say ( am not the brightest)

All you need to say now is that Kinkladze is better than Silva

Up the blues

I was with you until that.

Fantastic post.

Also we had a nailed on penalty ignored by the ref.

The second half in particular we completely dominated , they had no shots on target ( shots in the whole second half ) are rarely ventured into our half.

If not for some poor decisions for the final ball and some luck that they had on another day it would have been 5 or 6 -1.

Certainly not at our best and they battled resolutely but we were by far the better side and the scoreline flattered them somewhat.

Should have been at least 3-1 if not 4-1 and I don't fancy their chances in the second leg to be truthful.

Good post. It's mental on here sometimes. You wouldn't have thought we were having the season we are, breaking records as we go. If people aren't happy with what's happening now, then they are never going to be happy watching football. We won't win every game scoring 4 or 5 goals, but we are winning virtually every game, even when we go behind. We can't play our first 11 in every game, due to the number of games we have, fighting in 4 competitions. For those who are not happy, when have we ever had it better than this?
