City v Celtic post match

make shift team , players asked to play out of position and we didnt give too much away Maddeo and Adebaiyo looked tidy no glaring errors , the mistakes came from Clichy and Fernando. Not sure what Pep learned from that but he probably just wanted the game out of the way with no more injuries or suspensions , Gundogan looked good 2nd half bringing the ball forward and Sane has got a trick or two he needs a run in the 1st team a potential match winner . But some posters on here need to get a life , it was a run out for a few fringe players nothing more nothing less , and just another game towards world domination.

At times Zabaleta is ahead of kelechi? We badly need a leader with a real football brain and commanding. It looks so disorganised and the defending is no better than when Manuel was here. Worryingly it doesn't seem to be improving. Pep has to get defensive shape and organise the structure better. We are to far far to fragile.

Sane is very raw but it is clear to see he has an output. He put in 2 or 3 excellent crosses and glides past players. His defensive work is very poor though and his passing isn't great. Clearly a lot of potential though. Although he made a number of mistakes, Ian Darke found criticism when he didn't do anything wrong.

Some good points:
Fairly entertaining game
Some youngsters given a chance
Rested a few key players / only 2 or 3 of our strongest XI played
Gundogan's fitness is clearly improving

As a celtic fan no cup final at all tbh just you kinda think scottish football is shit and it is tbh but your league is not that great either !!!
Might have money but does not make good teams

There are no Raith Rovers down here thats for sure.

Was quite impressed by celtic's work rate , but they were let down by a basic lack of quality at this level.
Gundogan motm for me , has a lovely attitude and a great turning circle.
Sane seems to be the kind of player who will improve hugely with a run of games to sharpen his passing ( some horribly overhit stuff tonight) and decision making , but you could see his pace and strength and a good football brain.

Thirteen arrests so far at City v Celtic. One Celtic fan lifted earlier for throwing a hamburger at a police horse in Piccadilly Gardens.

But to be fair your the biggest in Scotland, and got the most money no doubt, but put in our league you would do well not to be relegated

Yeah but you didnt have to listen to the Afghan Hound for 90 minutes. Or did you?
You're talking about Lily, I presume? No; I don't have BT Sport. We had Keith Andrews on co-commentary duty; he wasn't too unreasonable, mind. Unlike the two fartknockers in the studio. Had to turn off in the end, as I can't afford to replace the TV.

Possibly the most dangerous thing the copper had ever seen.

Well, I thought Celtic played well. Wehave come a long way and with the resources at our disposal, we punch above our £25m team cost. Worth more than that now, but that's what it cost and I think we deserve a bit of respect for that.

Hopefully with the money we have made in the CL we can bring in another two good players and take another step forward.

I thought you deserved to win to be honest and if you had a better striker you would have done.

Very average from us for me. Just highlights how weak the squad is when you take out the main players.

We started the game like we were asleep. What was Sane doing for their goal? Keeping the ball in is fine if you know that a team mate is there but setting the other team up?

As for Clichy the less said about his performance the better.

On the positive side I thought Kelechi was good and Gundogan.

Barca 7 Celtic 0 , City 3 Barca 1 , and we made just the nine changes tonight , whilst you played your best available eleven , good luck sleeping your way to another Scottish title , it means nowt to anybody else

Caballero- 6
Clichy- 4
Adarabioyo- 6
Sagna- 7
Maffeo- 7
Zabaleta- 8
Nolito- 8
Gundogan- 8
Sané- 6
Fernando- 7
Iheanacho- 8

Clichy has genuinely been worse than Kolarov this season. Never thought I'd say that.
Gundogan needs to start against Leicester, probably next to De Bruyne, not behind him.
Sané's biggest asset is his pace running in from behind and we simply aren't utilising it.
Zabaleta got into scoring positions more than once in this game and looked comfortable in midfield.
Iheanacho's next competitive goal will be his 20th for City, while a certain Mr Rashford has been stuck on 12 since September ;)

Also, just to agree with the others, Clichy was very poor. He is clearly well past it -- in years past he was the superior defender to Kolarov but now you can expect him to make a mistake or two and get absolutely abused regularly. I'll be very happy when we see the backs of both him and Kolarov.
