We are missing a striker who can head the ball. Everton fought hard and so did we but at home we cant breakdown good defensive units.

Everton out-thought us again and at least deseved a draw. We should have had 2 pens though and their keeper was MOM.

Can't think of a city player that played at his normal level tonight everyone was below par especially Balo I thought.

So frustrating not to take a chance yet again but that's what we still have to learn...mentality of winning.

Excellent effort from Balo, and Howard clearly fouled him denying a goal scoring opportunity with that shoulder check... and he hit him in the knee causing the injury that took him off a few minutes later...... fucking USA's Tim Howard, MOM!?

At grassroots level a woeful start cost us this one. The team looked so completely relaxed and confident in their own skills that they forgot the basics until it was too late. I wonder if RM really does sit them down and tell them that he will spitroast their nuts if he sees any sloppy play before they go out there?

Don't take anything away from Everton. Once they had their lead they put two lines of four behind the ball and spoilt everything we did. Howard was the icing on the cake but the team shielded him (I've always been a fan of Sylvain). Forget the handballs and Marios woodwork and Kolos christmas holiday red card. We didn't out-think them or outsmart them, even though we had seven times more a.o.g than they did.

This is a real sickener just before christmas, especially with City-hating Sky crowing on that "Historically Rags leading at christmas will be champions". RM needs to get a bit angry with them now, twist a few collars and push a few backs against the wall. All the skill and ability we need is there. But these guys are multimillionaires and unless someone makes them understand that its going to hurt if they let the team down they won't get as passionate about it as we do.

Tevez as captain is not a good start. I don't know the ins and outs but the guy was about to leave us for whoever would have him on Monday. No matter how much we love him and the goals that he scores, the acres of press this affair has had has damaged the morale of the team and the fans. Whatever we say about Purpleface, he controls the shit-stirrers, and when he can't he gets rid of them. The team is bigger than any one player. RM is the boss, and being boss doesn't mean giving BJ's to the top goalscorer when he craps in your face.

Fair result on the night. Who knows how many Everton might have scored had they not decided to defend for 70 minutes, but for the first 20 minutes City were out played and half asleep.

Noticeable were the short sleeves of Cahill and Coleman as opposed to the scarves, thermals, wooly hats and gloves of some others, and that 'get stuck in' attitude probably won the match for Everton.

City had their chances, but not clinical enough for guys on £200k per week and easily stopped by a determined defence.

Distin was outstanding, as was Howard, but on the night, Everton threw the gauntlet down after they went 2-0 up, and City had 70 minutes to answer them, and didn't.

I still think City can mount a serious challenge this year, but some of your players aren't working nearly as hard as Evertons do, on a fraction of the pay, and that might tell if Mancini allows it to continue.

Fair result on the night. That's not a gloat - just the truth.
