Re: Cty v Everton Post Match Discussion

I sometimes wonder if i am watching the same game!Everton are a tight unit and extremely difficult to play against to put it mildly. They play games against us as if it is life and death and if they put that amount of effort into every game they would be top 4 every season.

They shaded the first half and we were sloppy in midfield and defence for their goal.Moyes can whine all he wants,i was right behind the goal for our penalty and it was nailed on.

We upped the tempo and controled most of the second half but there was always the danger they would score from a breakeway or a set piece. At the moment our forwards are below par.but any team would have found trying to break that lot down today tough. We really need to snap at some half chances and shoot instead of trying to set up the perfect chance in games like this!

The ref after realising he had not read the script by awarding us the penalty, then reverted to type and gave us nothing after that.Everton also reverted to type by falling over and feigning injury anytime one of our players went near them,so disrupting the flow of play.

Today we just needed a touch of magic but nobody remotely looked like providing it.It is games like this we miss De Jong believe it or not.Somebody reliable to sit deep with Barry and let Ya Ya power forward.

At the end of the day it is three tough potential banana skin games out of the way and we didn't lose one.

Just got in, Everton were just Everton, they frustrate they niggle they foul they fall over, they are a more skilful version of Stoke. awkward team to play at any time especially this season when they have their game plan down to a fine art

You win some you draw some, that's the way it goes onwards and upwards Blues

Spot on and the ref was so so poor could see a foul if it knocked him over and stop two City attacks instead of playing on

Well, if the manager said we need a world class striker then he needs his head testing - we've supposedly got 4 already.

We need pace, and lots of it.

also even if the manager knows we need a world class striker, given hes spent 100 million on stikers and hasnt got one what gives you faith he will pick one this time ?

Stop the world, I want to get off! If I hear anyone else say we haven't improved on last season I might slit my wrists, how do you improve on 1st?
Aside from that it seems the Euro's have taken their toll on our players (AN cup for Yaya), battle on for a second wind, United will run out of steam before us!
