CITY V FC Barcelona, Wednesday 9th Oct 2024, 8PM. Home leg. UWCL

It is strange it isn’t being moved to the Etihad as you’d get more interest with it being the international break for the men..I’d certainly rather watch this than fucking boring nations league shite ..

It'll be to do with the sponsorship naming deal with Joie.
They won't want to be sponsoring a stadium we don't use for the biggest games

I doubt that's the reason but if it was it would be an odd decision to potentially put a ceiling on our matchday attendances for the course of the deal (which we need to grow and are falling behind on compared to other sides). You could still put Joie's name in and around the Etihad to get them plenty of screen time.

Maybe the club will look at moving it if the tickets sell out in a day. The short lead time between the draw and the game probably hasn't helped or given much time to do the work to try fill out the Etihad.

They would struggle to half fill the Etihad, better having a full house at the Joie stadium.

I noticed Chelsea played at the big stadium last night, on the odd second or so that was shown this morning it looked empty.
