I might as well say it now as keep it bottled up.I was going to take my lads but the prospect of reezing rain, snow and a northerly wind is making me think again. I have never quite got over that FA Cup 3rd round loss at Boundary Park where I think I actually came close to my fingers and toes going black.
In October, 3 of the toes on my right foot actually DID turn black, followed by the other 2. I spent 2 weeks in MRI having tests and angioplasty, followed by amputation of the toes, followed by another week rehab. I'm diabetic.
I'm now at the stage where I can walk around very slowly at home with the aid of a stick and get up and down stairs. I'm told it will take a month or two before I it all heals, and I can even think about going to matches again. Orthotic shoes is next, so I can try and walk normally, but one thing at a time.
I'm lucky - it could have been my whole foot or bottom of my leg that was amputated, but my football playing days are over. A good job I'm 72 rather than 18.
Damn this diabetes!
I'm not looking for sympathy - I should have taken the advice of the consultants when it was diagnosed 25 years ago, but I obviously knew better.
At least I can apply for a Blue Badge now.

Remember an away game at Crystal Palace not long after John Bond took over. It was late Nov/early Dec , and it was pretty bloody nippy in that corner where the away fans used to stand.Three coldest games EVER...
3. I went to a Girona game (vs Bibao) a few years ago. Left at half time. My fault due to poor coat choice;

1. A game vs Huddersfield at the old Leeds Rd Stadium back in the early 80's. I still shive thinking about that one :(
Remember we scored in the first minute and were 2:0 up by half time, but we then decided to blow a 2 goal lead ! At that point I remember feeling very cold and miserable, but good old Gerry Gow popped up with a last minute winner to warm us all up (a little bit at least!)

I have been never been able to access City+ on any devices despite repeated attempts to sign up. I don't understand why the club persists with this platform. Why not just make the match free to watch on Youtube or the City app? It is only a pre-season friendly FFS.Shame it’s only on City+
