Defense looked very solid for a change - I was never really afraid that Liverpool would score. Under Hughes, and recently under Mancini, every opposition attack looked like it it would end in disaster.
Zab read the game really well, Barry battled hard, as did Ade (for a change). Without having any one player who could make a difference (like Ireland last year, or Tevez this year), we were definitely the better team, and had the ref given us a penalty for that blatant push on Ade, we'd have won and I bet there'd be 90% fewer negative comments on here.
Johnson lost the ball a lot, but he had two or even three defenders on him as soon as he got the ball. The question I have, only being able to see the game on TV, is where was his support when he was outnumbered? Surely if there are three men on Johnson, we should have the numerical advantage somewhere else on the pitch.
If we get Tevez back in time, and defend like that at Chelsea, you never know.....
