The second was given yet the only defender between Coutinho and the goal line when Sterling put it through was Hart. As far as I'm aware you can still be offside when you are behind the ball when its passed. Would have been a very harsh decision though.
To be honest if there was any real justice both teams would have come away with 3 points and Arse/Chelski got none for their bore-fest.

he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent
