City v Liverpool Post Match Thread

We played a 3rd choice Centre Half, a right back who was only partially fit and were missing our top goalscorer and first choice striker.

Well done to LFC as you only lost by one goal.
We played with our 3rd choice LB, without our skipper and our second best striker.
Thank you though.

Great win for the boys. I'm probably most proud of this win besides the Rags. Hard fought match and very entertaining the whole game.

Keep hearing you scousers say this, but it's just not a valid argument! Unfortuantely in football you don't get points awarded for playing better than the other team – we played Villa and Sunderland off the park... but they both beat us!

They wanted points for hitting the bar last season I kid you not

If they got all the points they think they deserved they'd have won the Prem every year since its inception. A sense of entitlement like you never will see.

I can think of one club's set of fans who are worse.

Only slightly, mind!

And just for the record, rather not start another debate, but still:

It's 36.2 miles from Bolton to Anfield and 17.2 miles from Bolton to the Etihad. Do you seriously believe that just 19 miles makes a difference? Are you really that deluded?

If not childish then you come over a lot like the 'entitled' Tarquins that were all over the board following their defeat
In the words of your beloved Rafa
You lost FACT
you had less possession FACT
you had fewer shots FACT
The goal wasn't given FACT
Therefore, just like the Tarquins, it didn't count FACT

So for all your winging and moaning you lost, you didn't get a draw FACT
And you didn't deserve one, in my opinion

You don't get draws for looking good, you get them for scoring the same number of goals as the opposition

City toyed with you in the second half, a lot like a cat with a mouse

Jeez, between you, the Tarquins and the rags I'm not sure which of you looks down on us the most with your self aggrandisement and expecting us to kow tow to the ever so super duper Sky Top four for ever
You should then read my opening posts a few pages back, because I said all these things myself (in a more acceptable style though), and followed with my arguments why I still think we deserved a draw. Won't type it for 4th time.

We had more possession in the second half , that's alco a FACT.

Anyway, enjoyed my short time here. May have a look again when the returning leg is due. Have a good day!

Plenty have complimented your boys, me included but fuck me fella, give it a rest. Your choice of username says what you are about and frankly, its getting boring.

So yo now get points for having more possession in the second half

Is this yet another rule change brought about by the chosen few?

Watch the game again, we let you have it whilst you pushed the ball from side to side whilst everyone was yawning
It was like watching city of last year

is that the first game we`ve won with that twat mason in charge.

i didnt hear the scousers complaining when

Manchester City defender Micah Richards has bemoaned referee Phil Dowd's 'poor' decision to award a controversial penalty for handball to Liverpool in his side's Carling Cup semi-final exit.
Richards was adjudged to have handled in the area for the spot-kick which led to Liverpool's first equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Wednesday, a result which ensured the Merseysiders progressed 3-2 on aggregate.
He was penalised as the ball ricocheted off his leg and hit his arm as he attempted to block a Daniel Agger shot, with Steven Gerrard converting the spot-kick.

We had fewer shots, but had 2 clear cut chances apart from our goal. And that offside call would've been the third ccc (the first, actually) at worst, while you had none apart from Negredo's goal.
I agree that whilst we had plenty of very good situations, we didn't necessarily have a huge amount of clear cut chances but still Navas hit the woodwork from a fairly decent chance and Negredo had a very good chance shortly before his goal that Skrtel just managed to block but I reckon was going in the far corner. TBH I wouldn't have begrudged you a point, you probably deserved it on the balance of play but it is just the way it goes. As someone else has said, we have dropped plenty of points away this season that arguably we didn't deserve to drop in terms of our performances. On the Sterling offside, I could see from my seat that he was well onside, it was a really poor decision but we play the offside trap (FWIW I hate it) and some going for you and some against is just the nature of that, we've had a couple of goals against us that should have been ruled out that weren't and we've had some go our way that shouldn't like last night. It really is just tough shit.

That's why a I said you deserved it anyway. Doesn't mean a draw wouldn't have been more fair.

I've read this quote several times now from Liverpool posters, what the fuck is that meant to mean?
You were outplayed, had fewer shots and less possession, are you all children?
No, we weren't at all.
We had fewer shots, but had 2 clear cut chances apart from our goal. And that offside call would've been the third ccc (the first, actually) at worst, while you had none apart from Negredo's goal. You had 20 shots overall, which is plenty indeed, but half of them was just a premauture shot from outside of the box with no real threat. Yaya had 2-3 like this if I remember correctly. We had 12 shots, 5 on target compared to 6 shots on target from you. 52-48 in possession.
If you call that outplaying and me a child because I think it was pretty even then I might be better off to the Liverppol forums with my opinions next time.
"That's why a I said you deserved it anyway. Doesn't mean a draw wouldn't have been more fair.", you do know that's self-contradictory don't you?

By the way, before the match(long before we outgunned Arsenal and hammered the rags) I suspected you would be our hardest home match of the league season and I wasn't wrong. You should still finish top 4 but the title really is ours to lose. About the only thing Rodgers got right this last few days.
