City v Liverpool Post Match Thread

Great win by the boys in blue last night . I can't believe Brendan is moaning about the referee . He was poor on both sides last night .

Fucking hell, you're from Hungary, I wish I'd not wasted my breath
Almost as bad as the hour and three quarters I'll never get back listening to the deluded dickhead Welshman giving it out about Liverpool last night

Did you woman when Mason was in charge when you beat us 1-0 last season?

Rodgers, and your, gripe is with the one linesman.

It's 36.2 miles from Bolton to Anfield and 17.2 miles from Bolton to the Etihad. Do you seriously believe that just 19 miles makes a difference? Are you really that deluded?
I don't want to be pedantic but it is only 27.6 miles from Bolton to Anfield.

It's nothing to do with the fact he lives on the Wirral. Some of us met Mike Riley in February 2012 and he explained how they appointed refs to games. Basically there are two criteria in order to avoid a potential conflict of interest.
1) If a ref or his family support a particular team, they can't officiate at matches involving that team (or their rivals). So it's probable that Dean has declared he's a Liverpool fan and when Liverpool got to the final that Dean had been appointed to, he had to be dropped.

2) Each club and ref belongs to a County FA association and they're not allowed to officiate for clubs in the same association. Dean is Cheshire, as are Anthony Taylor & Mike Jones, who you've had experience of (Jones was the 'beachball' ref).

Where it's stupid is that Taylor lives in Wythenshawe, which comes under Manchester yet he can referee us because his declared allegiance is to Altrincham FC.

If not childish then you come over a lot like the 'entitled' Tarquins that were all over the board following their defeat
In the words of your beloved Rafa
You lost FACT
you had less possession FACT
you had fewer shots FACT
The goal wasn't given FACT
Therefore, just like the Tarquins, it didn't count FACT

So for all your winging and moaning you lost, you didn't get a draw FACT
And you didn't deserve one, in my opinion

You don't get draws for looking good, you get them for scoring the same number of goals as the opposition

City toyed with you in the second half, a lot like a cat with a mouse

Jeez, between you, the Tarquins and the rags I'm not sure which of you looks down on us the most with your self aggrandisement and expecting us to kow tow to the ever so super duper Sky Top four for ever
You should then read my opening posts a few pages back, because I said all these things myself (in a more acceptable style though), and followed with my arguments why I still think we deserved a draw. Won't type it for 4th time.

We had more possession in the second half , that's alco a FACT.

Anyway, enjoyed my short time here. May have a look again when the returning leg is due. Have a good day!

You were clearly outplayed and towards the end outclassed, when your team reverted to type. In fairness I do think a minimum 5th/ 6th place should be achieved by Liverpool as long as you keep Suarez happy.

I've re-watched the game twice today and can say without fear we were definitely the better team but Liverpool are definitely the best side we've played in the league this season.

I can also confirm Michael Owen is a little ****.

We played a 3rd choice Centre Half, a right back who was only partially fit and were missing our top goalscorer and first choice striker.

Well done to LFC as you only lost by one goal.
We played with our 3rd choice LB, without our skipper and our second best striker.
Thank you though.

Er, mind running that past us again? Your second best striker?!! Or am I getting confused? wasntoffside, you are a scouser, right?

Oh I see, I had to read it a few times but I finally got it. Well, you played with your best striker, by miles, and in fairness, he was a handful. We played without our best striker (not by miles, but by a fair stretch, no disrespect to the Beast), and what's most significant , we are in second spot without ever having been able to align our clear first choice best eleven players for so much as four games on the trot since the start of this season.
