City v Liverpool - Post Match Thread

Thought Pep got it wrong playing a back 3 and while it was 11 v 11 we were getting battered down our left in the space behind Mendy. Wasn't especially confident even at 1-0. But thought we were absolutely brilliant once they went down to 10 men, truly stunning football at times, although Liverpool's utter capitulation was a bit odd, why they didn't fancy fighting and getting something from the match at 1-0, I have no idea. Being down to 10 men was no excuse for how they performed.

Cannot believe that I drove home listening to all and sundry describing it as a debatable red card. Fucking awful stuff from our scouse biased media who conveniently seem to have forgotten the rules of the game because it was one of their boys who got the red. He didn't mean to do it?! I'm sure he fucking didn't, shame that it is totally irrelevant. I imagine you'd be hard pushed to find a ref anywhere in the world who would look at a replay of that and say that it wasn't a red but oh no, it should have been a fucking yellow and we somehow got a bit of luck! Listened to an interview with Klopp (I used to like him and cannot believe what a **** he has become since being infected by that club) and the interviewer was saying how she had seen Ederson around the ground after the match and he was saying that he had too. The whole tone came across like they were accusing us of cheating. Fucking disgusting stuff quite honestly.

A special mention for the liverpool fans in level 3. Absolute fucking scum of the earth. Been to best part of 1000 matches and can't ever remember fans booing a player like that when it looks like a bad injury, just not done. From a club that talks about the liverpool way and seem to think that they're a class act, they should be fucking ashamed.

Yes, I heard that part too and thought it rather beneath him. I actually like Klopp, but I thought that comment was crass and unnecessary. Far better to say nothing of the sort and instead focus entirely on the deficiencies of your own side.

We were very very very good today. 11 v 11 it was an even game, but I'm glad we didn't go all gung go as it could've been very different. I felt very comfortable even though the mourners had the better of the first 30, this is due to having mendy and walker but mainly because ederson was between the sticks, he just takes all fear away because he's that good. Obviously the sending off changed the game, but do you know what, we showed brilliant composure, ruthlessness and classic ball retention to really put them to the sword.

Brilliant performance and a thoroughly deserved win.

Great win today. Thought Liverpool edged it before the sending off but when they went down to ten men we absolutely demolished them. Crazy, we have beaten Liverpool 5-0. This is sort of stuff I dreamt of when I was a kid.

Oh and definitely a sending off. Crazy that anyone is even questioning it. Hope ederson is ok.
Sorry but I think you're wrong. If Liverfool were leading 1 nil, because both teams aren't too far apart in terms of quality, we'd have been the ones applying greater pressure and they'd be trying to soak the pressure. It's just normal and we see this play out week in week out. I think we edged it before the sending off because we were ahead on goals. As many as suggested that if there was no red card we wouldn't have won deserve a big laugh.

Certainly not suggesting we wouldn't have won but we were definitely under pressure and I don't feel confident with our defence. With a result like that I can see it giving us a huge boost.

I thought before the (fully deserved) red card, the game had been just about even. By the time Mané was sent off, we had started to control the game.

RAWK is comedy gold. Can't believe how deluded they are. What surprises me is that they all think it's not a red card. How can anyone argue with the decision is beyond me even if you support those twats.
