City v Liverpool - Post Match Thread

You've totally missed the point, both his feet were off the ground and one slammed in to the side of Edersons face

No one disputes the fact he was going for the ball, but it's a very dangerous challenge that could have caused serious injury.
Exactly. The fact that he didn't do it maliciously is why it'll only be a three game ban - if he was trying to kick him in the head, I'd imagine it'd be more like ten.

A few Dippers on social media claiming city fans were singing about Hillsborough

I didn't hear it and can't believe it happened
Always the Victims never your fault is classed as a Hillsborough song.
I think we can give it a miss.

It's also about what happened at Heysel stadium and it was deservedly sung to the Grievers when they were booing Ederson when he was being treated and put on the stretcher.
Horrible bunch of twats...lowlife fucking scum

Not really a like for like comparison that one is it. Plenty were defending Kun last year when he was rightly sent off against Chelsea.
I think it is, you said there are some that will always defend their own. I pointed out that nobody defended Thatcher. You are conflating two issues . Mane today was dangerous, Kun was stupid.

In the era where going to block a player kicking the ball but not making contact with the man, who jumps out of the way, crying out in pain, I think kicking a keeper in the head leaving him prostate on the ground for 5 mins plus is a red card.

Personally waited 40 odd years for this. Humiliation of the Scouse turds. They used rock up at Maine Road and do us 3,4 and 5 in the 70s and 80s. Wembley pens was great but this is what the scroats have been waiting for for years.WELL DONE CITY.
Like, like, like...

I feel like the sending off was harsh. If it happened to us there would be a lot of people on here complaining. Mane was definitely trying to make a play on the ball. Great display all round from us though.
Are you being serious? He was trying to play the ball alright but was he unaware of the happenings around him? If yes then he deserves a second red for ignoring a potentially life threatening occurrence by deciding to "go for the ball". If no, he deserves a second red card for failing to be aware of he ongoings around his environmemt.

He took a huge risk imo and got the due punishment as it didn't pay off. I'd be perfectly okay if this was the judgement we got if one of our players did that. If you look up redcafe, they have a poll where they had their members vote to suggest whether the tackle deserved a red or not. The voting options were as follows: Was Mane's challenge deserving of a red?

a) yes
b) definetly
C) absolutely

...to let you know that they thought it was a noble brainer. I'm sorry to put this to you but if you think it wasn't a red, then I'm wondering if you're truly a blue. No one would see that event and try to justify it not being a red card offense unless they want to be intentionally in denial (which is what rival fans do).
