City v Liverpool - Post Match Thread

I thought he was good especially his composure on the ball but there are still issues lurking. However that said he was better than otamendi who looked in trouble throughout. I'm not sure what our best defensive line is - especially without VK. It would not surprise me if Mangala made his way into this team. In a 3 with Stones and Danilo could be a good combination of speed and physicality.

I'd go with this, the problem with Otamendi is that he goes to ground too much and struggles with pace.

That said, when he's on his game, he deserves his place. One of those frustrating players because it's all there but no consistency. Mangala might benefit from a long run in the team to build confidence and an understanding, problem is though, I can't see him picking Mangala before Otamendi.

Tyler and Neville spent the first 45 minutes ripping our defence apart, especially Ottamendi.

After that both of them were besides themselves when Sane got sent off.

I honestly thought I was watching LFC-TV when I got back from the match and watched the match at home afterwards.

Here's a thought,

Think, please.

Imagine the reaction of Tyler and Neville if United had beaten Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Exactly.
Sane did fuck all wrong.

The misunderstanding and statements being made about this Mane/Edrerson event by so called soccer pundits is astounding.
The laws of the game are clear regarding studs up in any challenge for the ball. On this occasion the referee was correct and should be applauded for having the bottle to issue the red card. If that tackle event had taken place in the middle of the pitch and the defender had done what mane did to an attacker, red card all day!

Pundits such as Neville, Linekar, Savage, Sherear and the like give the media headlines which the gutter press jump on deflecting from was a massacre by City over an alleged tile contender.

"his eyes were on the ball" changes nothing, eyes on the ball or not you would see a 6ft plus goal keeper in green coming out of his area at you with only his head to use, is no excuse to jump into the challenge showing studs, unless it was meant!

If these pundits believe that the event was not a red card are they saying, if they were a manger they would appeal that decision?
If any are thick enough to say yes that that would explain any experience they have had or would have as a manger is littered with FAILURE.

Perhaps they should all understand the game instead of conning a living from abusing it!

Rant Over

Well put Prima, and bang on, Why these so called experts ? can't understand a ruling is somewhat baffling! and leaves your own mind to come to one conclusion.

Apart from the very welcome fact that Ederson is OK, I'm pleased that we now look to have a very good goalkeeper.
Those brilliant long throws to the forwards, plus superb distribution from the back are going to pay dividends.

I was mad with the media but having slept on it,beautiful to piss of the dippers and the media in one foul swoop

5-0 hee hee

Take it take it

Next to fuck all being said about Sanes zinger.

Kamara on GOS concentrated on having a go at Sergio for passing to Jesus whilst suggesting Pep has been bollocking him to do more of it. If he's spouting BS the club should be slapping him down.

You've not been to many away games at Anfield have you?
Been there, yes. Every club has their wankers. They have a particularly large group, but I've also met many Liverpool fans who are decent people. Then again, I doubt many of them were at the Etihad on Saturday.

That booing has changed my view irreparably. I'm 53, played professionally, and have never seen or heard such behavior for a serious head injury. They did the same for Yaya, but that was a hamstring (I think?) and they were cheering that he had to go off, not booing a player being stretched off with an unknown head injury. Still disgusted just typing this.

Obvious non serious injuries perhaps but 8 mins on the deck, multiple medical staff and oxygen being given as well as a neck brace tends to lead you to the conclusion that its a possible serious injury and to a man they normally get applauded off.

All I said was people on stretchers get boo'd off. It's happened. It will continue to happen. Nature of the beast. You are right though, normally for that length of time applause is the norm. Normally.
