City v Liverpool Post Match

As I said earlier in this thread,(which everybody seemed to have missed). There is no inference from this particular game. It was just a draw between ourselves and liverpool.

Our tendency to piss points in the games before this one is where any dissapointment should be directed towards.

One things for sure, we definately have to win the derby match now and of course close the gap to at least 5 points before that game.

Yaya is back.

Points from today -
We weren't up for the game from the start.
We didn't close them down enough.
Pablo and Clichy were ripped apart by Suarez and Sturridge.
Aguero was poor until his goal, Silva must be suffering with a virus or something.
Joleon, Barry and Milner were decent.
It was a free kick, but why should Liverpool kick it out, Edin should have got up off his arse.
Good ref.
Keep the faith.

good ref??? you on smack? he was shockingly poor, fucking awful performance.

We've got no divine right to win, L'pool at least deserved a draw.
I was relieved we got a draw in the end, that is saying something!

A lucky point due to the brilliance of Aguero.
4 great goals. What about the brilliance of Gerrard's goal? Liverpool's goals were one offs as well.

Their equaliser changed the game and it was a bit unfortunate how that happened.

Wasn't our day today. Liverpool were set-up to contain and hit us on the break and we missed Yaya Toure and Kompany for what was a very big game.

Have to give Liverpool credit. The best team to come here apart from Dortmund

Great game by Milner, fantastic moves from Kun, overall not a bad effort but there's something missing: spirit for lack of a better word. I could see it already in the tunnel before the match, subdued faces, players looking uncertain, nervous instead of eager, proud, confident. In short, not looking like champions at all. Mario missing in the dressing room perhaps? I don't know, but something's just not right, I can smell it.

When Liverpool didn't park the bus, but actually played football, it looked like we just didn't know how to react. 1-1 at the break was a lucky score. So what happens in the dressing room at half-time? No idea, but the players come out and start the second half playing even worse. There's no sign of tactical changes from first half to cope with a team that controls the midfield and make every chance look dangerous. Nasty out with injury gets replaced with Kolarov and puts Clichy in the CB in stead of pulling Garcia down (he did well vs QPR) and strengthening the midfield. Could have used Tevez, Nasri, Rodwell or Sinclair and rearranged midfield accordingly. We go one down and have Silva replaced with a defender! and then another useless 85th minute sub - at that stage it really doesn't matter since no player can be expected to make an impact with just a few minutes left of the game.

Lucky to get draw, must have been a thrilling game for a neutral person. MOTM: Milner, worst performer: clueless ref closely followed by Mancini.

Most one sided ref since Attwell against Wolves IMO.

Different definition of a foul depending on the colour shirt you were wearing.

One thing you can never fault about this City team is our character, even today after playing so poorly we managed to fight back and could have even won it. It's a wonderful quality to have and bodes well for our future. Sadly, it's just blatantly clear that our top performers from last season are currently performing at 70% of what they were last term. We can't fault the desire, but were just not up to it this season.
