City v Real Madrid post match

I noticed this - seemed to pull up, and limp and grimace. Didn't expect him to last the game after that, it obviously affected him

There aren't many games when Aguero doesn't seem to pull up, limp and grimace at some point.

He often looks like he's knackered, has a quiet game. The next game, often only a few days later, he springs back to life. I have no idea how fit he is at moment.

I've read some shit characterisations and summations of the match last night and it's result, but this is the worst. Absolute dross mate. Meekly surrender? Get down to spec savers tout suite.

Oh dear, look whose talking, the football genius who thinks Pellegrini is a good manager!
I suppose having one shot on target at home in a semi-final, is your idea of a great achievement?

Unlike you, I call as I see it, it was a poor performance, the team played with too much fear against a Madrid that was without one of their main goal threats. The injury to Silva and the resulting tactical changes clearly played a big part in our under-performance last night, but unlike the mass delusions I'm seeing on this forum, I don't think it was a good night at all, we needed to win that game to stand even the slightest chance of going through, a 0-0 draw will be more to Real Madrid's advantage (despite the threat of an away goal from us), because I can see them scoring 3-4 against us, which makes any threat of a single away goal from us, completely irrelevant.

Last night was a big missed opportunity to take a small lead to the next leg...

Unlike a lot on here, I'm not a delusional supporter.

When we played them last time at the Bernabeu(sp) we only lost by a late goal, so how do you work out they will now put 3 or 4 past us?

Absolute Tosh that forgets to mention one of the most defensive Real Madrid performances anyone has ever seen.

I thought it was a very mature professional European performance . They have to attack us now any score draw would see us through. Good result for us I think . All still to play for Otamendi was superb Joe had a great game worried for Dave and Aguero looks injured too. Still quietly confident.

Maybe you should be as two years ago in April you were decrying anyone who suggested we might win the title as equally delusional. Seems you have a history of making overly negative posts about how poor City are. Very interesting. Speaking of "delusional" - seems it's a word you use regularly when talking about other Blues. Very very interesting. Anyway crack on. Having had a quick browse of your post history you're going on my ignore list.

What the actual fuck?
Eaglechief get a grip we are still in it man. I admit Madrid will be difficult to contain particularly if the ladyboy is back but we have a good outside chance. We could well get stuffed 4 or 5 nil but we also could fluke a scoring draw with an o.g. in time added on. Chin up we still have a chance.

Thought we did pretty much everything right up until the point Silva went off. We were solid, in control and although we werent looking like we were going to rip them apart, I thought we had a goal in us. It all changed when Silva went off though and in the 2nd half I thought we were extremely poor with the ball. Defensively sound but no threat to Real whatsoever. I thought Sagna, Clichy, Fernando, Fernandinho and Navas were all excellent defensively but offered nothing going in the other direction. Thats half a team in a CL semi final that offer nothing going forward.

The Kelechi sub didnt help matters. I cannot understand Pellegrini, hes had all season to give Nacho a chance and he has been reluctant to do so, much to every fans annoyance. Then we get to a CL semi final and he throws him on for 60 mins against one of the best teams in the world.

Overall felt very disappointed with the game itself, the pre-match atmosphere and flag waving was about the only good thing from last night.

I understand why fans are trying to put a brave face on the drab 0-0 result, but let's face it, Real will most likely put 3 or 4 past us at their ground, so tonight was a missed opportunity to at least take a lead with us and have something to fight for, rather than just meekly surrender, like we did last night.
Fuck me, you're a ray of sunshine aren't you :)

I can see where you are coming from here, although I don't agree.

The most important aspect of last nights game was the clean sheet. I didn't dream we would keep a clean sheet against that lot, but there we are, we did.

That makes making the final a one game shoot out away, and as we all know, City are at their unpredictable best when written off.

We have every chance next week, and no way will they get 3 or 4 - last nights tactics from them were a massive compliment to us. They are wary of us on the counter, and will be next week. They won't want to leave too much space. There is so much more pressure on them to make the Final, its expected! This will play into our hands.

RM 1 - City 1

Fucking hell~!
