City v Real Madrid post match

This was never going to be a walk in the park and we were always going to have to go to Madrid and get something to go through. A score draw and we're through so we've given ourselves a fighting chance in Madrid.

I think it was a good result in the sense that you are not flying there with an away goal down. But - APOLOGIES TO ALL - expected something more. Around the 70" I saw some Citizens walking and losing the ball for no good reason. Anyhow I hope you get a good result in Madrid and you meet Bayern in Milano.

Honestly, if we had won at least 1-0, then RM would need to come at us and score at least 2 to win outright, this would leave more space for us to launch counter attacks and hopefully score an away goal, so effectively the balance would have swung in our favour, by forcing them be more attack minded.

But with 0-0, they only need to score 1 and then keep us out, which makes RM favourites for the return leg to my mind, they don't need to come at us with all guns blazing, so they can reduce their exposure to any counter attacks from us (unless we get a bit of luck somehow).

Everything is plausible.

If they score 1 they will want 2 at least because as you say(they only need to score 1 and then keep us out)I doubt they would try & hold out(scenario)we score in the 90 odd minute,
Then they would be all out to score again..My opinion they need to score 3 to be confident.
Just as if we score 1 first are the going to go all out? i doubt it(maybe the last 10/15mins..
I can see a very similar game as the first game,But there so many scenario,s

Overall, not too bad.

I wish we'd have scored with Ronaldo and Benzima out. But the draw, is a decent result. Any scoring draw in the next leg and we're through.

David Silva injury is big.

And KDB never seems nearly as good on the left - amazing central or cutting in on the right, and average minus on the left. With Silva out, Pellers seems to always play KDB on the left... huge loss with Silva out and compounded with KDB on the left.

KDB and Kun both looked tired, especially in the 2nd half. Many passes/opportunities weren't taken. Sterling also looked rusty when he cam on.

The defense held - but we're pretty solid on D overall - it's when we turn the ball over that we're very vulnerable. Good performances on D all around, but nothing spectacular.

I think that Real are probably favorites to advance given that we didn't score in our home leg - but we have a good chance since we didn't concede. Maybe 55% or so in favor of RM now; hopefully Ronaldo isn't fit for the next leg.
============
If we advance.... anything can happen in a 1-off. Maybe we'll win the CL this season and finish top-3 in the BPL. Here's hoping!

Agreed everything is plausible, after watching the Athletico v Bayern game, it still feels like we missed an opportunity to take an advantage with us to the Bernabau, but hey ho, that's just the way things are!

If we match them or even better them(high pressing again) could change the atmosphere in our favour..
Their fans no there going to be in a game.plus scenario,s as said above..
we have nothing to fear & everything to gain...
