City v Southampton Post Match Thread

Our ,only poor player today was Navas .
Still don't see a very good winger .
Peter Beagrie was better than him .

Everyone put a shift in today, Yaya & Fernandinho are back to their best, Clichy looked like a full back again and Mangala is looking more promising. Just get rid of this Sunderland curse on Wednesday and we can say that City are back.

Pellegrini on top form judging from this:

An important paragraph that maybe Collymore should read.......

It was as certain a penalty as could be imagined: and Jones marched over and brandished a yellow card in Aguero’s face, for diving.

Maybe he thought Aguero had taken out Fonte’s outstretched leg with his shins. It is the only explanation. If Jones genuinely did not recognise that as a foul he should not be out there. Alternately, it was all part of a cunning plan and he wants Christmas off. On this performance he should get it; Easter, too.

'Know your players, referee,' counselled Gary Lineker on Twitter. Good point. Jones cannot be let off with the old excuse that diving has made the referee’s job impossible. Aguero has no great reputation for simulation and an incident as blatant as this should not be complicated by events elsewhere.

He is spot on in my book he is a quality player on the ball he should do more, he should just look at lampard one touch move awareness of a quick pass.. Nasri on every set piece is poor can understand why Mancini got so frustrated with him!
The defensive side of his game is non existent.
He should be doing more by stopping opposition players in their own half from building up an attack, instead he just allows opponents to float past him without challenging.

Funny how today Nathaniel Clyne was largely anonymous. Nasri has to take some credit for that.
He got in the way a lot more today.

Don't let observation and fact get in the way of obscure opinion

He was poor. Such a frustrating player, though. The potential was on view against Bayern...but then again when a footballer is 29, we shouldn't be talking about potential!!

Yaya? really?

I thought he was good for a 6/10 at best, and a couple of those points are down to the goal.

A lot of the game simply bypassed him.I may be judging him harshly......but that's down to the fact he's a Ferrari driving like a Mondeo.

Much better today against a tricky team. They were completely nullified really. Concerned about Vinny and his injury but we did put in a very professional performance which is good to see!

Wrong again
Really what does he bring to the table ?
Not impressed and would rather play Milner more .
At least Milner can cross a ball .
