City v Southampton Post Match Thread

Another thing I was pleased with, was how, on numerous occasions, we threw our bodies in the way of their shots and passes on the edge of our box.

I have not seen us defend like this, with such commitment this season, and could sense a siege mentality that has not been shown on many occasions.

More of the same lads, with 2 more crucial games to come this week!

outstanding team performance today i though should have been much easier but wank referee

Thought Pellers subs were bang on and he managed the game incredably well

Not a big fan of Peller's game management usually but today thought it was spot on. Pretty much everything today was spot on apart from the ref.

Milner was excellent when he came on. Strong, positive, made a goal.
Spot on. Stopped Southampton getting anywhere in midfield when we went down down to 10 too.
Nobody had an off day today - which is good news as far as I'm concerned.

Really encouraging all round apart from the novel yellow card for being hacked down. New rule perhaps?

Clichy, the master goalscorer, is on a roll.

Bring on the Mackems.

Great win, great performance and great backing from the away fans.

We looked better when Nasri and Jovetic went off and Aguero would have had two or three on another day. Picking up Lampard was a masterstroke. The guy just knows where the goal is and his shooting accuracy is something the other midfielders should be looking at. Really impressed with YaYa today - apart from being dispossessed which led to Mangala's red card - he was the glue of the team and scored the all-important first goal. He's becoming a difference maker again. Mangala was also playing well till he was shown a red. Dimichelis comes on a fits in seamlessly. Jimmy all energy and hard work for the team. Both full backs much more solid and Clichy gets the goal his performance deserved. Fern seems back to where he was last season. Joe Hart - well yes he punches when he should catch and kicks the ball into touch far too much but he makes the important saves when he needs to and is a good organiser of the back for. Just hope Vinny is back for Wednesday. Another brand new centre back pairing isn't what we need.

We've just got to put this SoL hoodoo to bed this time.

Any official news on Vinnys injury yet?

No - but I
Saw a book in Waterstones yesterday – Mysteries of our Age.
It was about Shergar , Lord Lucan and Matija Nastasic. Smile Smile Smile

I think refs. should be docked 25% of their pay if they are so inept.
