Not for me. Win the next 3 league games and barring an utter collapse league won. Want to go into derby with 6 points and not give the rags a sniff, hopefully they'll be further than 8 behind. Risk losing points after that game for me. Last champs league game for the back up players.
3 games in a week, two key fatigue injuries, and not only the derby will look more ominous, but the entire winter calendar! I’d like to see MAXIMUM possible rotation in the two games we have prior to the derby, because that game is the key. Yes, we need to win the next two, but if you can’t beat both of those teams at home with a few rotations, then who are we really?

Fernandinho yellow against Soton, then take him off for second half, and no more than half a game in the legs of Silva and KDB. I’d also play Mangala against Carroll in the WHU game, because Delph and Walker insufficient to deal with him as he pulls off to the back post.

This really could be a critical few weeks in the race for the Premier, if we can come through it with 9 pts and Utd drop addl points against either/or/both Watford and The Arse. I’m glad this first derby is away.

That is incredible, don't ever see that record being beaten.
I agree. He may be a total shit of a human being, and his teams can play the most tedious shite at times.

But to not lose for 150 consecutive home games over 9 years, in all competitions, really is quite some achievement. Talk about fortress!

Although that run is now broken, he's starting to do it again at the swamp. They haven't lost there for something like 40 games now I think.

I'd go Walker for Danilo. Walker seems not to get tired.
Agree with the Mangler selection, we've got to play him some time over the coming month and it's too risky to play Vince twice a week.
KDB looking a bit knackered so agreed Gundogan to start.

Totally off topic, I know, but the closest thing I can think of to that is this, and I will add it for your collective delectation: the 400 metres hurdler, Ed Moses, was not beaten in ten years (that was 107 top class track meets). And that is more stupendous, while we're about it. I remember for years finding that stat utterly incomprehensible.

Have they really played 40 home games since we last played them there ?

yep. The pundits on U.S. TV mention it every time they play. It shocked me too that they've played that many home games since last September, though tinpots like Europa and League Cup surely boost the figure.
