Looking at the full league tables, it stands out how few away matches Southampton have played.

They have only managed 5 so far - winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 2 with 3 goals scored and 6 conceded.

They do not carry a lot of threat up front and defensively they look quite shaky with a goalkeeper prone to dropping frequent bollocks.

They have an excellent midfield and providing we overcome that with our quality then I see no reason why we should not win the game.

They always try and football so this will be an interesting game.

I think like most before, they will sit in and defend.

No game is easy and although we should be beating them, we can never say never.

We are totally dominating the league currently but the nature of the PL will ensure something happens to keep it interesting.

That said, this is a critical couple of games where by we could end any hope the scum have.

As others are saying, it would be a huge pity if, afer the position we’ve put ourselves in, we in any way messed up these next two home games. We could put ourselves in a place where, before the derby, virtually everyone is out of the running except just possibly the rags and Chelsea. That’s a good spot, mentally, to be in, heading towards the end of the year.
In 2011-12, the first PL match we lost was as late as December, at Chelsea (although we’d had a draw or two before that). Team, don’t let this happen, please. Not this time.

But we'd still have the same problem ahead of Spurs. Better to rest him v West Ham by getting him banned for it. Then he's definitely available for both (barring injury).

I can see what you're saying. Just worried that yellow might end up as a red!

Dinho is on 4 yellows. So do we play him Wednesday and ensure he gets a yellow and he serves it against West Ham?

Got to box clever with Fernandinho.
He needs to rest one of the 2 games next week otherwise he risks suspension vs the rags.
If he gets through vs saints then he needs resting vs Wham. Or if he gets a booking vs the Saints then he's OK.
Know it sounds obvious but let's hope Pep knows this.
Ah. Should have checked the thread before I posted. Good point.

But With Spurs after United I’d rather he washed his suspension against West Ham at Home.

Christ, you'd think we were kicking teams off the pitch. Where are we in the Fair Play League? Not that I think we'll need it for European qualification..... remember those days?
A quick search shows the page isn't available in the official sites, it's either bring updated after weekend games or it's too embarrassing to publish.
