City v Southampton pre match thread

As others are saying, it would be a huge pity if, afer the position we’ve put ourselves in, we in any way messed up these next two home games. We could put ourselves in a place where, before the derby, virtually everyone is out of the running except just possibly the rags and Chelsea. That’s a good spot, mentally, to be in, heading towards the end of the year.
In 2011-12, the first PL match we lost was as late as December, at Chelsea (although we’d had a draw or two before that). Team, don’t let this happen, please. Not this time.

I just can't see united getting 6/6 points before the derby in their current form.

I'd give them a 10% chance of getting all 6 from Watford and Arsenal.

Bit of a long shot.
Off to Cape Town for a week.
Anybody have any idea if there are any bars showing Wednesday’s game?

Jesus Christ, can you imagine if they lost both games and we won both. What a week this could be.

I don’t really see that happening. It would be a complete meltdown of their title challenge. And this is Mourinho, after all. The master of bore football. What is entirely plausible, on the other hand, is that they get two draws. Thus, two points against our — hopefully — six. Twelve points ahead of them going into the derby would virtually end it. A win by us at Old Trafford would end it.
Whatever, the cliché holds good: we just need to focus on our own games, the rest will take care of itself. Win these next two, please, blues.

You would imagine/hope that both players start against Southampton with the explicit instruction to pick up a soft yellow at some point. If not, then expect them not to feature against West Ham. The derby’s too important to risk losing either.
Exactly, in either scenario we will make sure they are both available for the derby.
