CITY v Stoke: F.A Cup Final - Official Match Thread

I think it will be a tough game, but Man C will win. I so want them to win, to get rid of that banner at Old Trafford, to get another trophy at long last and make themselves and us proud.

Whichever team Mancini picks good luck us!

Saturday is my birthday, and what better way to celebrate than with a piece of silverware.

Beats another cake eh :)
3-1 City.

It's my birthday tomorrow too xD Just hope i get the present i've been hoping for for 19 years lol!

My birthday too, and I've been waiting for a bit longer than you!! ;-)

I think we will win, but I am expecting a close game and can't believe there won't be at least a little bit of turture to endure ... come on you blues!!

I feel sick. I've been busy enough all day to occupy my mind with other thoughts, and tomorrow is full work until an hour before kick-off. But the butterflies are now jumping around like nobody's business. I can't guess the team, and it won't make the result any better, even if I do. All I know is, if Kolarov plays, he'd better suddenly start playing like a defender should.

Does anyone reckon the players manage to sleep tonight? And if so, how?

I recon its going to be this....

--------------Hart-----------------
Richards-Kompany-Lescott-Zaba
-------Barry-----De Jong-----------
-----------Yaya-------------------
Balotelli-------------------Silva
----------Tevez-------------------

Obviously providing Zaba is fit if not Kolerov replacing him, and if not tevez Dzeko starting.

I wouldnt have Balo on from start - too easily wound up on such a big occasion and it would be a mare if he got sent off. Also AJ shouldnt start as hes too lightweight and is much better as an impact player when the game is stretched and defenders are tired.
What we need to do to win this game is to take our chances and score when we are on top, because otherwise we have a habit of dropping deeper and deeper, and Joe then starts hoofing it.

I think the lads will be well up for it though - like at the semi we weathered their good spell and got back on the front foot. Its ours for the taking.

A bottle of good old three for a tenner from Asda and a big spliff - just like everybody else.
No, only joking . . . more like a good meal, a good bottle of claret and a good woman (the last being the hardest to find (but the most precious).

Fact is that they've all had careers that have taken them from one big goal to the next and they're used to accepting and dealing with incremental steps in pressure . . . they're professional athletes specialising in the beautiful game and they'll deal with it and sleep sound . . . not being in an FA Cup Final is what stops footballers from sleeping . . just take a look at the footage of camel-gob & Co. following the rag exit to see how relaxing it is to be out of the competition.
Having said that the rags did set a record on the day - fastest clearance of half of wembley ever seen. About three times as fast as safety experts calculated possible in the event of a major fire . . experts are amazed but looking into it.

. . . and they didn't even stay to applaud their losing side off the pitch . . . love 'em when they're winning but embarrassed to be associated with them when they get beat. They call themselves loyal fans and I call it humiliating.

For those of you old enough to remember, check the date of your last appearance in an FA Cup Final game...

14th May 1981...... the date tomorrow is????

Make sure Stoke have not signed any Argentinian dribblers..... still Ricky Villa.......
