City v Stoke Post Match Thread

Just seen this belter on the BBC site:

"Just before that goal, Manchester City made a bizarre substitution. Manuel Pellegrini had just brought on Stevan Jovetic but decided to take him off and bring on Javi Garcia.

We were scratching our heads at that move but it pushed Yaya Toure further up the field and seconds later he scored..."

Did they seriously think it was an unforced, tactical change??

Unbelievable ........ Are they really journalists ?

I wanted to type in the match thread when Jovetic went off that now Yaya will push forward and score the decider. Thank fuck for the goal.

Hopefully, we will never ever see Negredo and Dzeko start together, Pellegrini should admit it now that it may work against Championhsip sides but not in the PL.

It's a massive 3 points coming of the back of two big games (Chelsea and Barcelona) these are the games that win you a title. If now the key players stay fit and Dezko resumes his seat on the bench I believe the first eleven has a great chance of winning it. If however the back up players that lack technical ability play a lot more minutes then needed it will ultimately lead to City falling just short.

Agreed. Has looked jaded for a while, and I had hoped being able to perm 2 from 4 forwards would allow him to refresh; cue another injury. :-(

Dzeko trying his best to kill any hopes of a transfer to Stoke. It's gonna happen mate .....regardless [cue loads of clueless, 14 yr old scally's insulting me now]. Dzeko, the donkey is a bit of a mascot on these boards.

Decent performance otherwise. Bearing in mind the exertions of Tuesday night.

Awful game but that was down to Stokes extremely negative tactics.

worringly Negrado looks well off the pace since his shoulder injury, dzeko just had a bad day again

Nasri and silva were both fantastic.....and yaya just proved how uch more effective heis when fiuther forward instead of being sat infornt of the back 4.

Did jovetic go off injured? He actually went to sit on the bench before being told to go down the tunnel almost as though it was a change in tactics from pellers? Probably not though and unfortunately probably injured again.

MDM - I just dont understand why acentre half of his experience keeps diving in all the tie and going to ground...he did it on at least 3 occasions today and put us in trouble each time. In other parts of his game he is an ok player but this badly lets him down.

Dzeko shouldn't even get a game for the ladies team.
worst game for us ever...EVERYTHING he did was a fuck up....every single time he got the ball...and its been been getting progressively worse for months now....MP stuck with him over Negredo?....why?

Am hoping that aguero's eventual return will reinvigorate us, much like Tevez's did in the title winning season.

In this title race, yes.

Pleased with the win but really frustrated with Jovetic's injuries. We just had to grind out results in games like this.

P.S How do you even block your own shot?

Dzeko had a really, really bad game...

He is in a funk, and needs get out of it ASAP...with Jovetic out (probably, again) and Kun slowly returning - no time to fuck around, he needs to STEP THE F UP!!!

I love the lad, but his game today...inexusable.
