There's nothing to suggest that we'll have a dogfight. They can't handle the way our team plays, or any other team with possession. They are, in a word, the best oldschool football club in the world. And they are one of the few left who play with natural wingers. But times are changing. They were dismantled against Barcelona some 600-300 passes.

The idea that theyre going to change this formula is ludicrous as they don't have the personnel nor management that understand how to slowly dismantle the opposition.

3-2 at the Charity Shield was a mixture of new teammates and naivete. I'm not arrogant in any sense, its just looking at Rag weaknesses versus City strengths. The more they play with width players we dismantle their centrehalves.

I pretty much agree with all of this. The only real decent game they've had of late is the game against Newcastle, the rest of the time they have been fucking gash. Yes, I know that they are in second place and only 5 points behind us but the fact remains that they have been playing turgid, lacklustre and plodding football - for a ten minute spell in the second half against Norwich the Canaries had something like 80% possession against them, fucking 80%! They've conceded 3 goals against Basel at home; got beat by Crystal Palace at Home; had 6 put past them at home (beautiful) by us. Moreover, since we twatted them they have actually changed their approach, hence the consecutive five 1-0s in the league- two of those games against bottom teams who have been really struggling - Sunderland (17th) and Swansea (14th).

If I had a choice of playing Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spuds or that lot I'd pick that lot all day long simply because I feel we'd have a better chance of winning than against the others. That's not being arrogant, that's looking at them and seeing them for what they are, a so-so squad of average players (with a couple from the top shelf) who are over-achieving because of a manager who knows his stuff and has them well drilled.

After saying all that, yeah, we could get beat; we could also get beat by Bolton and Wigan, the question should be how likely is it?

Serious question: if we give them another twatting in January, would Taggart chuck the towel in and call it a day?

"Brilliant draw. If we lose, we will have only league to play for and very few games in the second half of season which basically reduces any potential chance of getting too tired to carry on. If we win, we will have a huge advantage over them mentally, and they will lose their best shot at silverware this season as both league and CL will be much more difficult to win".
