City v Viktoria Plzen Post Match Thread

I actually thought dzeko started the game looking quite interested. However,he soon went back to his default performance of poor control and lack of effort.
When you compare his overall effort and commitment to that of Negredo,he comes a very distant second.
His time at the club hasn't been all bad but better to let him go, in January if possible, for everyone's sake.

Average performance and terrible at the back but a wins a win.

Dzeko as crap as ever but I think he knows his days are numbered. He must look at Negredo and think, I've got no fcking chance of playing while he is banging em in. Too much of a mare arse for me and has been since we signed him.

Navas, Nasri, Milner all did well for me.
This seems to be the case with Dzeko. As much as he scored a goal today, he managed to set up a few Plzen attacks by giving the ball away far too often. I'll never understand how a guy his size can lose possession so easily.

Problem with Edin is he won't tackle or hassle defenders, You look at Negredo and the gulf in effort alone is vast. Maybe Dzeko is past caring because his confidence is gone but he's surely past the point of no return and in need of a new challenge

It's very simple. Obviously (with the benefit of watching it for 2 seasons), Dzeko is a confidence player who needs to play every week. He's a decent player in that role, who will probably bag 15 to 20 goals a season.

But equally obviously, if he is not playing every week, his confidence drops, his attitude gets shitty and get becomes wank.

We are not going to play him every week. Therefore he must be sold. End of.

can't tell if you figured that out all your own or just felt like quoting the commentators tonight. I agree tho, sell em

People like Nasri really stepped up when out of favour and given a second chance. Even Captain Kolarov has shown some pretty decent spells this year.

Dzeko, on the other hand, continues to whine and complain and sulk and fails to deliver on the pitch. Needs to be gone.

Supposed to be a nice lad, actually, and I hope that he can find a better situation for himself elsewhere.
