City v Viktoria Plzen Post Match Thread

Shit performance, but job done....... Eventually.

I just hope the reports of Kolorov, Dzeko, Garcia being fancied for January moves comes off. Hopefully we'll get more adequate replacements.

Micah was below average tonight & I just hope it's because he's still shaking off his ring rust.

I wouldn't blame Hart for any of the goals, it was down to the personnel in front of him.

The worrying aspect is how far our performances drop when the b-team play, we need to strengthen.our squad's gene pool.

Not arsed as a dead rubber, however....

Garcia - fucking hopeless, absolute carthorse.
Kolarov - shite
Lescott - donkey
Dzeko - touch of a rapist
Micah - nowhere to be seen

Some serious deadwood to be shifted in Jan.

Get busy, Txiki.

Lescott done ok for me.

Lescott on 2-2, nooooo..

Lescott's worst game this season for me and I reckon it's all part of being in a poor back 4 with a useless defensive midfield player in front of them

One possible positive is that Pellegrini can sit Txiki down with a DVD of that game and calmly explain why we need to sign at least two defensive players (a centre-back and a defensive midfielder) in January. The evidence is irrefutable.

Cheque book fans....it ain't going to happen.

We tried to sign Pepe for big money in the summer (presumably to be in the first XI), so the notion of us again pursuing a first-team defender in January doesn't strike me as particularly unrealistic, especially as the manager doesn't seem all that keen on Lescott and probably wasn't aware quite how fragile Kompany's fitness has become.

As for midfield cover, Rodwell has proved entirely unreliable and we are one injury to Fernandinho/Yaya away from having major problems in that position. Again, I fail to see how addressing this issue in January would be in any way unlikely.

We din't really care about the game, quite obvious. We arn't going to stuff Bayern 3-0 in Munich rather just conserve energy and concentrate on Swansea, that said pretty bummed about the Aguero injury. We have no back up for him, except maybe playing Guidetti or playing Nasri in a very attacking role.

Interesting point about scoring a lot of goals at home, any team we play on the knockout stages, get a goal away but we should go through with goals we are able to score at home.

Still winning without VK and Silva in the squad.

Our individual talent won us the game but as a team there are still question marks. One or two will definitely not here by the start of next season.

Can it be Garcia and Demichelis?

-- Wed Nov 27, 2013 9:52 pm --

Looking far ahead I know but it looks like we'll be playing either Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Barcelona or PSG in the last 16..

We knew this when we beat Moscow.

What, after 3 games?

Hart had some good kicking at the end but Costel's distribution and overall football vision are still a lot better imo. Garcia was not really there. Kolarov was wank.

Arsenal at home has become a more important game than Bayern away now. Don't expect a strong team in Munich.
We are in the knockout stages now and will have to take our chances.

That's what I meant to say, these last two fixtures arn't worth risking any of our XI players specially Aguero like today. Hopefully its nothing.
