City v Villa - Police release CCTV images of 24 fans

From the bbc football website…

Pitch invasions: Offenders to receive automatic club ban under new Premier League & EFL measures…

Aston Villa keeper Robin Olsen was assaulted at Manchester City on the final day of the season
Has anyone checked on Olsen? Hopefully he's survived his holidays; his ice cream wasn't too cold, a wave didn't splash his legs, sand didn't get into his flip-flops etc.

There would be an outcry if it happened to an overseas supporter at a service station though.

All good news as hopefully after a couple of lengthy bans attention seeking tossers will stop sending their kids onto the pitch.
but you just know all those on here STILL 'defending my right to be a football fan and its not fair and and and' will still bang on about it...

While I agree that action is needed on the increasing number of people entering the pitch, the below paragraph is a bit hypocritical...

"This includes working with social media platforms to establish new ways of quicker removal of fan-generated videos of illegal behaviour at football matches, including violent offences and pitch invasions."

If they are including smoke bombs in the illegal behaviour category then they should probably start with Sky Sports and the club's own content which regularly use this type of footage.

On one hand smoke bombs are illegal and anyone using them will be banned, but on the other hand the club and broadcasters think they look fantastic and will use footage to promote matches.
