You can't upgrade if you're on the cup scheme :(

Last season my mum fell down the stairs and had to miss the first champions league match :(
She's still suffering now btw, but yeah i had to go on my own and leave her expenisve seat empty as city wouldn't let it be upgraded without forcing her to leave the cup scheme. She's an over 65 ticket obvioulsy.

Thanks for that. Seems daft though that they would rather have an empty seat and lose out on money than let us upgrade it. Don't see the logic in that at all?

They don't lose out on money, as they still make you pay for it!

The money will still come out of the credit/debit account you set up. And if you ask them not to, they take you off the scheme (and take the joining points away of course too), and yeah they wont let you upgrade without taking you off the scheme.

Bascially in the clubs eyes, if you think you may miss some you are not meant to join. Because of course you're meant to be psychic and know when you are going to be ill or have something you can't get out of ;)

I was very annoyed but the club were firm about this last season when mum was ill, she still had £30 or whatever it was took out of her account for a seat no one would be sat in (unless i grabbed a random 65 year old off the street and took them!) My sister would have gone, but with no upgrade allowed she's 40 and can't yet pass for 65 (she's getting there though!!)

Yeah. I meant that they lose out on the £12.50 extra to upgrade to an adult ticket.

I knew what I was getting into going on the cup schemes. Me, the son and missus all have season cards but now live in Southampton so although we make all the league games it's difficult to make the cup games. This is the first time my son and I have gone on the cup scheme. We were basically forced on it as for the first time last year we struggled to get tickets for certain away games. I was aware that I was going on the schemes but there would be a lot of occasions that the lad could not make it because of school( midweek games). It just seems daft that I need to put him on the schemes to keep him elegible for away games he can make but cant upgrade his ticket( trebling the price) to save an empty seat. Clubs loss I suppose?

You sure?

I upgraded my lads 18-21 to full adult for the Carling Semi v Liverpool with no probs? He was gutted to miss it but when on shift in Oxford etc ......it reality he missed nothing.

On main topic...... I remember all the moaning on Hamburg tickets at a fiver and even the 'victory parade' tickets which were free (I just picked some up going into the Stoke game I think it was, don't know why we just don't open the gates and let every fucker in.... someone would still be moaning then tho'.

how do the expect students to afford £25 for dortmund and £15 for villa?
dortmund should be £15 and Villa a tenner for students

The club can't just throw cheap tickets about for the biggest games. With FFP just round the corner we need to make money or we wont be playing in The Champions League anytime soon because we will get thrown out. At least we have student prices
