City v Villa Ticket news

Why no reduction for cup scheme members like in Champions League?

My lad is on the cup scheme but cannot go to this game. Anyone know if I can upgrade his ticket to that of an adult or have we got to leave his seat empty?

You can't upgrade if you're on the cup scheme :(

Last season my mum fell down the stairs and had to miss the first champions league match :(
She's still suffering now btw, but yeah i had to go on my own and leave her expenisve seat empty as city wouldn't let it be upgraded without forcing her to leave the cup scheme. She's an over 65 ticket obvioulsy.

Thanks for that. Seems daft though that they would rather have an empty seat and lose out on money than let us upgrade it. Don't see the logic in that at all?

They don't lose out on money, as they still make you pay for it!

The money will still come out of the credit/debit account you set up. And if you ask them not to, they take you off the scheme (and take the joining points away of course too), and yeah they wont let you upgrade without taking you off the scheme.

Bascially in the clubs eyes, if you think you may miss some you are not meant to join. Because of course you're meant to be psychic and know when you are going to be ill or have something you can't get out of ;)

I was very annoyed but the club were firm about this last season when mum was ill, she still had £30 or whatever it was took out of her account for a seat no one would be sat in (unless i grabbed a random 65 year old off the street and took them!) My sister would have gone, but with no upgrade allowed she's 40 and can't yet pass for 65 (she's getting there though!!)

Just go anyway, keep the card well hidden in your hand before you put it in the scanner and the stewards won't see it.

when you scan your card a light on the other side of the turnstyle comes on, the colour of light coming is dependent on whether an adult card is scanned, or a different category

Yeah and if you get caught doing that you get a ban nowadays from what i read on here (i'd always been too scared to try anyway!).
