Sterling in the second half was looking like the player he was at the start of the season...looked to suddenly get his confidence back again (maybe Pep said something to him at half time)

Silva and the way he finds space is just amazing.

And Yaya putting in tackles!!!!!

The loss of Ilky is a shame as id prefer to have him for arsenal but Im guessing he will miss that game.....fernando did ok when he came on but doesn't have the creative spark that icky has...then again we should have enough on the pitch without it.......

Zabba- taking lessons from Kun! - i said in the pre match thread that he would end up probably playing centre forward....well he scored a great goal today....
 
Biggest claim here apart from the points is the 0 next to Watfords name - a clean sheet and a much needed one. 4 at the back and much needed solid defensive display for are 3rd clean sheet of the season.

Pep changed it and got the result. onwards now to Arsenal
 
Absolutely vital 3 points. We scratched and fought (other than Clichy lol) to get the win. Thought our defence seemed to drop a bit deeper tonight, which I liked!

Well played Zab, Yaya, Merlin, Fern, Kev. Hope Ilkay is ok.
 
Clean sheets are what the premiership is all about for us from now on.

We will create enough to win the vast majority of games so long as we keep it tight at the back.

That was a much more solid performance lets have a few more of those thank you.
 
Watford lucky to not get anyone sent off with some very physical tackles. That aside clean sheet at last and a good win. Toure and Fernando did well breaking up the play. Sterling caused problems for Watford throughout.

Happy with that now let's get a good solid win against the Arse.

What was the secret to the clean sheet mate - was it the selection at centre back that made the difference?
 
Yaya, Zab and Sterling were excellent. When Pep was announced I'd hoped we'd see Yaya in the pivot. His ability is perfect for that role against the lesser sides.

The only negative is Clichy. If there is a modern day player more suited to defining the word useless then I'm yet to see him. He can't attack or defend and is a complete liability. Stick a shit haircut on a traffic cone and that would do a better job at full back.

He's been a very good servent for us and was a stand out performer at LB in our title wins. However, he's lost that yard of pace that regularly got him out of trouble. Whilst the same can be said about Zab and Kolarov, then still offer something going forward.
