City Voice - Name the stand

I think Joe Hart has a good case for having this stand named after himself - more so than Bert Trautmann.

He's been our best keeper since we moved to the new stadium. He's won more trophies than any other keeper in City's history. He's a spokesperson for the club who seems to represent City as well as anyone. He will most probably earn 100+ England caps. He's clearly got a good bond with the fans at that end of the ground (Think of all the songs - Joey do the poznan - where's your dandruff gone - Joey do the samba etc). He's won more Premier League Golden Glove's than anyone else and is the ONLY English keeper to claim the award.

Obviously I wouldn't name the stand after him until he's retired, but if he stays with us for nearly his entire career then he has to be remembered somehow.

I think some City fans on here are trying to hard to prove we have legends and wanting to stay in touch with our history - which is great, but let's not forget about the people who are making the club tick now, in our most successful era!

spot on

Can't see us ever having a Sheikh Mansour stand, as he's not that much of an egotistical maniac. You can imagine the Vincent Tan stand, the Dave Whelan stand or the Mike Ashley Stand.

What is this? What's City Voice? Are they renaming the South Stand? Surely there's only one option...The Bert Trautmann Stand.

It's a thread on BlueMoon

It's something the club introduced at the start of last season - basically, it's a forum that people can comment on things the club want to know about, but mainly it's used to send City fans surveys (Like the one this thread is based on). Sign up to it on here https://www.city-voice.co.uk/Portal/default.aspx

They haven't said they are definitely renaming the SouthStand, but I'm reasonably sure they will (otherwise they wouldn't have sent this survey out).

Apparently not, the main 'name' the club was pushing was the 'Cityzen' stand. For each of the 19 premiership games the club would be named after a different Cityzen. So one week it could be the 'Didsbury Dave stand', the next it could be the 'Abdullah Hussien stand' or the 'Lee Chan' stand etc.

I think it's safe to say the team who comes up with these ideas have either: a) never been to a football game, or b) are 4 years old.

(I hope my colour coding enhanced your 'bluemoon experience').

Thanks mate. Is "The Didsbury Dave Stand" one of the options? I could live with it I suppose. I'd say Bert Trautmann just edges it on balance, but I'm happy to accept if offered.

Looking at the picture of where they are going to put this "SUPER FAN`S" name,It is going to get covered anyway by my fu**ing flag.
I had to move it from the 2nd tier last year for some fu**ing pink laser show ! It aint happening again.

And on the subject of stand naming why not "The Shielky Stand " or as we already have "The Bellend " we could have "The Bookend " and when the north stand is done that could become "The DICKov End." It shows our sense of humour and irony. :-}}}}}}}
