City Vs Borussia Dortmund (CL) Post Match Thread

Our transfer strategy has probably ended our hopes in Europe. Too much money spent on mediocrity. Everton fans were shocked when we spent 12m on Rodwell rather than Fellaini. Rodwell couldn't beat out Phil Neville for the position.

He shouldn't be the scapegoat for a terrible team performance, but he is one example among many of this illogical transfer strategy.

First half I thought we had a good chance to get the right result, but we just switched off, and allowed Dortmund to run the show, we got a point not to bad................

mancini is actually clueless. to have rodwell in the team over either milner or barry is criminal. nasty over lescott is worse and as for letting de jong go for garcia is plain madness.

hart fantastic.

the bottom line though is we also had our chances and had rodwell not been colour blind the pen would have won it for us.

You don't half post some shite

truth hurts does it.

German teams are physically most prepared teams in the world. They were all over the place and that's why they won the midfield. Every time a player received a ball he had at least two of them on their back.
Silva managed to keep the possession in first half but was completely lost in the second. Nasri is too static, he ll always fail to deliver against high pressing teams(proven). Mancini tried it with Yaya but he couldn't deliver the ball to Aguero and Dzeko. Rodwell lacks confidence and he looks afraid.

18 shots for an away side, 8 on target. Players don't seem to know what system they are playing.

Overall we were the better team, if Joe Hart had been more alert we would have won 1-0. They got lucky as Rodwell has been faultless since he joined

Ah? :-/

Bobby knows the problem and he will fix it very quickly
Is 'I know the problem but can't tell you it' Mancinis way of saying 'we didn't ask enough questions'?

Thought Pablo played very well tonight. He's really rounded himself into a fantastic right back all around. He's one of the few people I don't worry about and that make me feel a little better about things when he's on the pitch.

IIRC, the rule states that the handball has to be intentional for a penalty to be awarded. Even with my heavy duty blue blinkers on, that wasn't intentional. But I'll take it!

Correct - for once.
:-(

To be fair this is bollocks - how many actual intentional handballs are there?

City have had so many shit penalty / non-penalty decisions against them, this is just a drop in the ocean of parity..

If Mancini gets you out of the group then I think there will be quite a few player sold in the summer.

It's not polite to come on another team's forum after a defeat and be quite so opinionated. For what it's worth a disagree with a lot of what you say, but don't necessarily feel like arguing the toss with someone who isn't a blue. I'm sure you understand.
