City Vs Borussia Dortmund (CL) Post Match Thread

City were lucky to avoid a 3 or 4 nil hammering and Hart was out of this world.

So many players looked off the pace, Nasri hasn't looked fit since he has joined City and he looks like carrying a large amount of extra weight, No intensity left in his play whatsoever.

Question marks over Mancini in Europe carry on, Suprised by his tactics and Rodwell is nowhere near good enough for a team in the CL and the lad Javi Garcia was non-existent, Didn't realise he was playing until the 20th minute.

Aguero looked good and made the best out of some scraps.

Can't argue with any of that apart from I wouldn't write Rodwell off just yet!

Garcia makes Dejong look like Messi , A more experienced midfielder like Milner or Barry should have been brought in and not Rodwell , This is the UCL not a preseason game Lescott is more experience and has more physical presence than Nastasic . Tevez is a workaholic and UCL quality attacker . Truely Mancini is clueless.

you didn't answer the question. what did garcia do wrong tonight, or are you just going to keep in your de jong nostalgia. he's gone, garcia is here, now tell me what he did wrong tonight.
His distribution of the ball was awful imo

i don't agree, but thank you for at least answering the question

I see the Rag idiots are out in force again

That was a great game of football, and it was clear we were playing a really top team.

I was relieved to get a point because we went to pieces in the 2nd half, but don't forget how well we played for most of the game. For the first hour both teams created chance after chance and I thought whoever got the 1st goal would go on and win it

I don't know how we are going to recover in time for Saturday. Fans will help

Saw highlights from both Ajax matches so... why people think we'll beat them twice? I can imagine 4 points are our max. And I'm optimistic.

Hopefully we can get our act together in the league as its our best chance for silverware this season.

I hope there are some valid reasons for our lack lustre performances this season that can be rectified.

Yaya looked injured and I would be surprised if he started on Saturday.

The players looked slow and lethargic for most of the game.

Three home games now without a win and its nowhere near where we need to be.

We have no answer to sides who press us.

Often Silva had five players circling him tonight with no support.

If Mancini gets you out of the group then I think there will be quite a few player sold in the summer.

It's not polite to come on another team's forum after a defeat and be quite so opinionated. For what it's worth a disagree with a lot of what you say, but don't necessarily feel like arguing the toss with someone who isn't a blue. I'm sure you understand.
Fair enough and I see your point. Will leave the discussion whilst emotions are still running high.

To slow.
To predictable.
European games need a high tempo performance.

This match reveals a few important things.
1. Nasri does not have the right work ethic or mentality to play for City. He is a loser and hid.
2. Yaya Toure really needs help in midfield against the better teams.
3. You are really missing a world class centre back. Kompany is off form and it shows.

1. Yes he has. But he isn't a winger! Yet another player who is played out of his natural best position. He would be fantastic as a playmaking centre midfielder.
2. Agree. Yaya should never again EVER be played as a defensive midfielder. That's like playing Messi at centre back.
3. Yes. I think Nastacic looks great and looks like he could turn out to be a fantastic signing.

We did not play as a unit tonight, nor have we for a while.

I think in Yaya, Nasri and Garcia we could have one of the three best midfields in Europe, and the optioons we have up front is on paper almost too good to be true. Our defence is okay, but very thin. If Maicon again reaches his potential he'll be a great addition.

With out current sqaud I think we could play like this and ought to be very successful at it.

----------------------- Hart -------------------------
------ Kompany -------------- Nastacic ---------
Maicon ------------ Garcia -------------- Kolarov
------------- Yaya ------------ Nasri --------------
--- Tevez ---------- Aguero ----------- Silva ---

I personally have lost faith in Nasri. Compare Nasri today and Silva against Arsenal. That is the difference between the two players. Silva was having a shocker. Not once did he hide. Not once did he stop trying to play the right pass, not once did he stop showing for the ball. I can recall at least 3 times in the match where Silva wasted a good counter attack. BUT that is what makes him class. Even on his worst day, with his confidence at it's lowest he is going to stand and be counted.

Do you remember Nasri doing anything good or bad today?

I expect this will be the team from now on.

Maicon Kompany Nastasic Clichy

Silva Toure Barry/Garica Kolarov

Balotelli Aguero

If Mancini gets you out of the group then I think there will be quite a few player sold in the summer.

Have to agree ... Nasri WAS an embarrassment , no wonder he was taken off .

Of course Nasri is not strong enough in his head. And when he's used as a playmaker? Like in France NT? No, please. And in this moment Garcia looks like CB, to be honest.

That prick Platini must be rubbing his hands. His bullshit financial bollocks is keeping us down and perpetuating his old cartel at the top of the CL. If it wasn't for that **** we'd have bought RvP, Hazard and Thiago Silva this summer and would be virtually unbeatable. Instead we get Rodwell, Sinclair & some kid from Fiorentina.
