City Vs Bournemouth Post Match Thread

That had to of been the most boring 5-1 win you'll ever see. But job well done. Kind of feel sorry for Bournemouth, they've lost their best players for the entire season, they play some half decent football, with the injured players and a couple of signings in defence and something upfront they could be a decent premier league side A Swansea-lite. However, i think they'll go down. Just too toothless in attack.

As for us, Sterling and KDB stepped up today. Good to finally have some new signings that can make the difference. Despite the horrendous miss from Navas yet again, i actually thought he had a decent game today, he's starting to gain a bit of confidence and run at(kind of) defenders. it's a welcome improvement but he still needs to do it more. He could be so much better than he is.

Spent most of the second half watching Otamendi close up from the south stand. I'm still not convinced he's a top defender. His positioning is often all over the place and he almost always follows the ball instead of playing as a unit and staying in position. Then there's his biggest flaw, his constant and unnecessary diving in. It might of been fine in La Liga and it looks impressive when it comes off but if he doesn't adapt and change it's going to cost us. His distribution needs to improve too, he's clearly capable of playing out from the back but it's too often too casual, relatively simple passes are going wayward and putting us in trouble in dangerous positions. On the other side, Mangala was very assured, covered Ottamendi's strolls out of position very well with the help of Sagna and made a few excellent tackles. Has to be Kompany and Mangala to start the Derby if fit.

Solid display and a good win against albeit so-so opposition. One of those games where you feel everyone had a good workout, the players you wanted to see scoring have done and its a good 3-points with a couple of slightly harder tests during the next 7-days.

Get in, great result.
Impressed that with our current injury list we did a professional job and got the good win needed. Well played boys. Kevin is bloody amazing Maureen must be cursing him self!! Lol

Off for an Indian to celebrate a good day and back in time for them shits on MOTD to try and slag the team off despite our crucial injuries and having scored SIX perfectly good goals!

Bring on Seville! Enjoy your Saturday blues :)

Comfortable win. Just what was needed. Impressed with Bony's all round game today especially the goals. Shame Kelechi's was chalked off. I think Dean gave us 4 free kicks all game.

Thrilling first half, efficient second half but we got the job done.

Kdb was so good yet again but I'm delighted for Raheem. Hopefully this will spur him on and he can cause even more trouble for opposing teams, the second goal especially was what I thought he would be like with his dribbling and close control, but that obviously wasn't his only great moment of the game.

On the whole I thought Mangala played very well and that he should partner Kompany against Sevilla and the rags, but he needs to close players down quicker before they shoot, twice this has happened and they've scored so it's slightly concerning but I don't think it will be that difficult to coach into him.

Great to remain top of the table going into the derby with our new signings on form, and to do so by scoring lots of goals that reminded me of Pellers' first season, a win on Wednesday and in the derby would make it the perfect week.

Thought everyone played well today.
Defence was a bit dodgy for their goal, Joe Hart blameless as there was a slight deflection and he had a very good game.
Other than that I was very impressed with Otamendi and Mangala's last-ditch save-the-day tackles. Sagna was cool as you like at left-back and Zabaleta is still the fucking man.
De Bruyne had another amazing game, unlucky not to score. Navas was fabulous despite being seemingly unable to finish into an open net. Really liked his play for our last goal.
So pleased for Bony, he had a great game too and thoroughly deserved his 2 goals. Loved his celebration, we probably all felt the same way.
Sterling motm, a first half hat-trick, the second goal where he floored two defenders in the box was outstanding.
Terribly unlucky Kelechi Iheanacho. He scored a beautiful goal, perfectly onside pass from Bony but got done by the linesman.
On a happier note I thought the crowd was also really good today. I couldn't tell you what happened from the 80 - 85th min because I was loving our sustained rendition of Argentinian Blues.

Just in from the game.
Good confidence boost for a Sterling and Bony. KDB, Zabaleta, Fernandinho excellent as was Navas yet again!
To knit pick - Still too many easy passes misplaced and too easy for the opposition to engineer half chances.
Credit to the Bournemouth fans.

Credit to Bournemouth for playing the football the right way but carry on and there back down.

Impressed first half and saved ourselves for Wednesday second half which was good.

Kompany Mangala for next two games hopefully.

Navas not scoring from that chance was unbelievable but typical of him. However he was very lively all game and had unlimited energy from start to end. He does actually add something to the team.
I don't know what was up with Nasri.
Bony is a classy player.
And a message to all my scouse friends - Sterling - no end product
KDB. What can you say? Some around me were saying Colin Bell.
