City Vs Bournemouth Pre Match Thread

Pellegrini has said a few times that the reason we lost the title last year was that we dropped too many points against teams near the bottom of the table. So now that we have that type of fixture, and a number of enforced absences, is it likely that he will leave out players who are available because he's saving them for future games?

For me. Prem League games = strongest available team. No ifs or buts about it.

Feeling sorry for bournemouth to lose your 2 record signings (left back and left winger), goalscorer and your captain to long term injuries. And we think our situation is bad is nothing compared to there's.

Agreed. New to Prem League and looking like playing decent football, it would be a shame if they now started to plummet. I will lift my sympathy though for 90 mins tomorrow, then route for them till we next play them.

AS if we were better against the top teams:
Arsenal - 1 point
Chelsea - 2 points
Liverpool/United - 3 points

That's 9 points from 8 games, hardly impressive it is. Arsenal, Liverpool and United had their best match of the season against us. Need to improve our record against top teams as well.

Yep, that together with the 9 points dropped against QPR, Burnley and Hull cost us last season.

It will be good to see Distin back, wish he had Dunnie with him!! Looking forward to this match, but just hope that our players don't get complacent. We need the win because we need every single point we can gather.

True, but i really think we should be resting Dinho for this one.... Really need him for the derby, and the ref will be itching to book him.....

Fernando looked decent recently, so hopefully he'll be enough to cope with their midfield tomorrow....

Nothing less than a win is acceptable. With Aguero and Silva out, the thing i most want to see tomorrow is a slight change in style. Pellegrini needs to prove he's adaptable and not just the predictable manager he's become with us over the last two years. It's likely Bony will be upfront and Navas Sterling and Kolarov will all be in the side, that's plenty of potential pace and service from the wingers to a powerful striker. lets actually utilise these strengths for once.

Didn't see any of the S Americans in the training pics from yesterday. Does that mean none are available for tomorrow or is it possible that if they train today they could still make it?? I guess we'll find out in 40 mins

There's only about 8 players in total in those pics so going by your reasoning half the EDS will be in the squad tomorrow ;)
