Time for a reality check guys, I think. We are not going to win the Champions league. The way Chelsea are playing I think it will take something very special to win the premier League again, so this competition and the FA Cup could be our only chances of silver for this season, so we should play our strongest side available.

i didnt see anything special in Chelsea's performance today that said they were unbeatable infact in quite a number of there games i'd say there really nothing much better than us, with 87 points to play for there is plenty of time to recover the six point gap, i think we will be ok in the title race

You could have said the same last season.
Cheer up mate, it could be worst, you could live on the edge of civilization on the west coast of Cumbria.

I think Newcastle gave it all today so definitely there will be players rested. That said I just hope that Pellers puts out a strong team so that it is a comfortable win to set us up for the rags.
Weather looks like rain and we seem to win in bad weather!!!!
Taking the missus to this one so hope plenty of goals.

Wonder how many Newcastle bringing.

I think Pardew will see the game as a shot to nothing. There team looks like they are enjoying their football again, and the pressure is coming off

But the outcome depends largely on City's attitude and approach.

Three big games for the club coming up that will tell us a lot about the attitude of the players and the management as they cover three competitions.

Manure are probably at the strongest they have been for sometime so they will be out to give us a real test.

I was disappointed in our lethargy on Saturday and lack of intent and carry that into any of these games and will be be found out again despite it being opposition that we should comfortably account for if our mindset is switched on.

Not sure why we take these domestic cup games so serious .. why cant we get the reserves to play in them ?

Well i appreciate our manager taking the cups seriously , its always to have a nice day out at wembley , and just reward for our supporters who spend vast amounts of money following the team , as you well know.

I rather have League Cup trophy than nothing. Yes you would probably say that it can hinder our other comps, but there is never guarantee we win PL. Last season, we played quite strong teams in LC and still won PL. Don't see the problem with the squad we have.

As Sky have chosen this game for viewing , it will be interesting to see how long it will be before they mention the empty seats and the atmosphere , this will be despite having the biggest cup attendance of the night.
