Longest time for a post match thread to appear ever? It has finished, right? The FA haven't found a way to make us replay the game so we lose?

Anyway, good performance, though a bit hard to get too excited about I suppose. Still, all good performances building to an FA Cup win and a victory at the Swamp is all I care about this season now. Good result for us with Chelsea losing too.

And AGGUEEERRROOOOOOO got a run out. Oh and we've signed a new belgian striker.

Thought we were excellent today. I love watching us play like that. We had them parked in their half and played some lovely stuff around the D. To be fair they defended really well but it was only a matter of time before we got the first one. Can't think of one player who played poorly. Thought Silva and Nasri were magic and their skill on the ball is unreal at times. Great to see Sergio back and thrilled our Capt Marvel made it through ok. 10 points lost while he was out just shows how important he is to us. Final note, kudos to lescott for being a model professional and playing like that today... that step over was ronaldoesque. I bet Hart was giving him some stick after the game.

I pay for a full ninety minutes each match and there's a handful of goalies turn up at the Etihad determined I'll only get sixty. When TF is a ref gonna book a goalkeeper for timewasting. This **** took timewasting to pisstake proportions. I've never seen a goalie put the ball down for a goal kick, do a little jig and then put it on the other side.

Silva's goal in the 2nd added minute was poetic justice.

There were no injuries first half so 2 was surely for the blatant time wasting.

When are these shit teams going to realise that trying to get a draw against us just doesn't work.

In over 2 seasons only Sunderland have got a draw outside top 6 sides and had to score 3 to get it. They came for a positive result and almost got it.

Newcastle came for nothing and got nothing.

I agree Newcastle were poor, but give us some credit. You cant play football without the ball. Thought we (esp Gaz Baz) pressured the ball well.
