City vs Newcastle Post Match

I watched a different game to most people today. For the life of me I can't see how Nasri was man of the match, I thought he was average at best, and was hoping he'd be subbed. All he seemed to do was get the ball, then turn around and do a five yard pass to the nearest player, which was invariably Yaya. There were a good few occasions when he should have taken his man on, but seemed happy to pass the responsibility onto someone else.

As for people slagging Dzeko - again I was watching something different.
Next time don't fuck around and watch game

I love this place. We win convincingly 4-0 and play well = 11 pages. We lose = 60 pages.

Yes , but praising is all well and good , but it's not half as exciting as a good moan ... ....

it's like the guy who never complains about his steak at his local restaurant , not ever , even though it's never cooked to his liking ..... then one time he surveys the burnt offering put in front of him and he's finally had enough , they've pushed him too far , an' he let's the restaurant staff have it with both barrels .....

what a great feelin' !

Difficult to criticse the performance today but the issue to me is the contrast between todays performance and the performance in recent away matches.

We seem a completely different outfit. We do not boss the game, struggle to create chances and seem a lot less confident in possession. That is the issue for me. I walked away happy today but slightly frustrated due to the contrast in performances we are seeing.

Weird how people can view things so differently but I can only think it happens because of people's pre conceived ideas about a player.

I am far from a Nasri fan but could see he played well today and while we were struggling to score, despite having most of the ball, he was probably the man most likely to create something. He did wriggle free on the right byline so set up Edin which ended with Barry missing a sitter and it was Nasri who set up the Silva goal with some great play.

Dzeko, he was ok but only just.

And I thought it was just me and everyone I spoke to after the game

I thought Dzeko did a few decent things today & i can't stand him. Can't do a lot of basic stuff tho like pass to your mate 5 yards away.

Have to agree, Nasri's performance was good but he nearly hurt himself pulling out of a tackle. For me he was no better he should be every game. Also thought Dzeko was unlucky not to score, played well. Lescott was great, is he definitely off?

Good performance from City today.

Gareth Barry gave a masterclass in "How to knit a midfield together". Always available for the ball, always knew where his team mates were and gave quick, simple, early passes to allow the midfield to play.

The trio of Silva, Nasri and Ya Ya had room to pass and go due to the extra width provided by Clichy and Zabba moving so far forward, helped by Newcastle's negative approach.

During the latter part of the first half especially, our full backs were so far forward we were almost playing a 2-4-4 formation!
