City vs Newcastle Post Match

City were dominant all game, but I was thinking after 1/2 an hour we're well on top, but have we worked the keeper. We really need to get more shots away on goal

Once we scored, we really played well. Possibly as well as we have played all season at home. Newcastle were appalling apart from 5 minutes at the start of the 2nd half

Newcastle had loads of injuries in their defence, but even when they're full strength they seem like one of those teams we just seem to know how to beat (unlike Sunderland who we never beat away!). Today's result was never in much doubt to me.

The goal keeper time wasting was annoying...until we scored
That was their only tactic

I couldn't believe how poor they were. Even allowing for their injuries, they've still got a lot of good individual players eg Gutierez, Cisse, Cabaye, Sissoko.

After a sluggish first 20 or so, I was really impressed. The goal was much needed as Newcastle were being very negative and fans were becoming restless, but after that we played with that swagger and freedom that seems to have been missing so much this season. "It should've been ten", not sure how Dzeko was it(?) missed when he was virtually stood on the goal line, but wastefulness didn't cost us today.

I think you mean when Barry blasted over the bar?

No the shot before that when whoever it was (I think Dzeko but I haven't seen the replays yet) had most of the goal to bang it into but shot it against the keeper.

Oh right!

Agreed, they were very, very ordinary - or maybe we made them look like that with our superior play

Strange today. Once we'd scored it was as if neither set of players could be bothered, nor could the fans. Don't know if its just the fact no-one wants to miss out on the FA Cup games now or what, but was really flat.

Nasri played very well.

Nasri's always better when he's inside and more central, play him out wide and it's like having 10 men on the pitch
Correct,so let's all stop kicking him in the bollocks and remember he's only playing where he's told to play.

Thoroughly delighted with the result and performance. Samir Nasri where have you been hiding
