I get the feeling with Ambrose's exclusion from last nights youth cup squad he will be part of the first team squad come Saturday.

In fact, I can see at least two youth players making the squad on Saturday.

I think Ambrose will start after not being involved last night, his runs with Silva behind him will scare the shit out of Palace.

I look forward to seeing him play after hearing so much about him

The striker issues have made this game more intriguing than it generally would be. For me, if we dominate the possession like we know we can, we should have no problem creating a few chances for Pozo/Ambrose or whoever plays upfront.

Palace aren't in great form and neither are their strikers, I think Campbell and Chamakh have only got 4 Premier League goals between them in 13 appearances each. Bolasie & Zaha (if fit) will have to be watched carefully but other than that I don't see them being a huge threat.

Frazier Campbell did get two against us though last season for Cardiff but, that was at Cardiff and was one of their early Premier League games against one of the big boys so their tails would have been up for that match.

If your interested in the match from a betting perspective you might find my blog of interest. I've produced a level stakes profit so far with my blogs on City's Premier League matches so fingers crossed that continues.

That's an interesting read. I'm wholly ignorant about betting matters but agree with your analysis about the teams. My only fear is that Palace score first, as we never looked like scoring twice against Everton and Leicester. Having watched three of the last five Palace matches, I'm surprised so many people think we'll brush them aside.

By all accounts we have been trialling various systems in training this week. The 4-6-0 and employing one of the youger players as a single striker.

It seems to me that the better option is to start with the 4-6-0 and switch to a single striker later in the game, either because the 4-6-0 isnt working or because its working so well that the game is sown up and we can give the juniors a run out. Flooding the midfield early on will ask questions of Palace's defense, take them out of their comfort zone. And it will be easier for the younger players to come on when the game opens up. Its asking a lot of a young player to lead the line as a single striker, particularly from the outset.

I think Ambrose will start. Not sure we would change our whole system, style and philosophy for what could be just the one game against a side we should beat with all due respect.

Hart
Sagna
Clichy
Mdm
Mangala
Fernando
Fernandiho
Milner
Nasri
Silva
