Kolarov generally plays against the weaker teams where we are expected to dominate possession as he offers much more going forward. Clichy usually gets the nod against the better teams as he is the better defender.

That might have been true 3 seasons ago but currently Clichy is not better than Kolarov in any aspect except pace.

I'd say he's better in every aspect except crossing and shooting.

So you think he's a better header of the ball? A better leader on the pitch? Better set piece taker? Better movement in the final third?

I disagree. Kolarov lacks a brain and thinks he's Ronaldo, he needs a reality check. Not to mention his composure on the ball at times is worrying.

yep. aleks has the ability to make us a devastating side. clichy simply doesn't have anything like that in his locker, AND he's suffering more concentration lapses lately. he may have been "hung out to dry" by silva but clichy, an actual defender, more than did the same to mangala

Shit :/ I'd still take Kolarov over Luke Shaw who cost £30m. To be honest o can't think of a better left back in England except Baines.
