City Vs Spuds Post Match Reaction Thread

Ground out a result tonight when we didn't set the world on fire. Spurs had a good go but we kept them out.

Richards looked a bit rusty in terms of match fitness but put in an awesome performance. Lescott had another great game. Silva is Silva - motm virtually every game. Milner put in a good shift. AJ was ineffectual and is perhaps better as an impact sub. Yaya and NDJ had average games. Some promising stuff from Edin along with some poor touches but willing to give him more time. Nice cameo from Carlos (who with NJD were the only players to get close enough to the crowd to throw the fans their shirts) but I feel I'm waving goodbye.

Hope Pablo is ok because you can imagine him playing on if he really had been shot by a sniper in level 3 but I think tonight was the beginning of the end for Kolarov. Dropped for Zab given he was facing Lennon, he comes on and within five minutes he's been told to swap sides with Micah.

Let's play our own game on Saturday - Stoke can't do anything if we pass them to death.

I have nothing but respect for the majority of Tottenham players. Modric, Defoe, Sandro, Gallas, Dawson, Lennon, Cudicini etc are good lads, they play with good spirit and/or skill. Even Redknapp, he's just Redknapp, motor mouth, nosey parker, a wheeler dealer and confidence manager. What's to hate when he's no longer any sort of threat?

I will make an exception for Crouch. He will break somebody's skull one of these days. I don't actually blame him, I blame the fucking refs. He uses his arms illegally and dangerously more than any other player I have ever seen, (with the possible exception of Felliani) and ref after ref after ref lets him get away with it.

Dzeko... err..

I've never seen such a good player struggle so much. His confidence is rock bottom, every touch is loose, every decision goes against him. I have to admire him for showing some appetite. A lesser player might have sunk without trace, but he's still having an impact on the game, those two flick-ons were absolutely mint.

I'm not sure about that, I think they just swapped for the corner (as usual) and stayed there for a little longer than normally is the case.

Crouch scores the winner at Eastlands to confirm Champions League qualification! Who'd have thought we would ever have liekd to hear that again?

Absolutely brilliant. Not the performance, that was poor but I really couldn't care less. But the feeling is brilliant, the Champions League is something I used to just watch out of interest, never really imagined City would be in it. Now we are in the most prestigious club tournament in the world. Amazing. Well done to everyone at the club, we've achieved our season's target, can't wait for next year's European campaign, still a chance of catching 3rd too with Arsenal in such bad form...

Oh yeah and the small matter of an FA Cup Final on Saturday is quite good too :)
