City Vs Spurs Post game Discussion Thread

Re: City Vs SpursPost game Discussion Thread

I think it was a good performance (in 2nd half). Silva is extremely important for us, it was clear once again. And I think Kun, Maicon and both full-backs had a good game too. Important 3 points against a Top6 club.

Re: Adebayor on Zabaleta

I thought it was unintentional. Just ran into him.

For the record I don't have any preference for our formation. I'm just confused as to how some are saying "that was three at the back" when all we really did was rearrange the backlit (in the same starting formation) to push Maicon into Zabaletas position.
It WAS 3 at the back: Zab - Kompany - Clichy

3 at the back works, haters

Did we play 3 at the back? From my understanding we played Kolarov as an out and out midfielder. I couldn't count 3 players as CBs.

In other news, anyone catch the commentator when Zabaleta got elbowed "he made a meal of it". Cut to Zabaleta bleeding.

When I heard this I couldn't believe it..... Seems like everyone is just biased against city it's so frustrating. I really wanted to see his face after the shot of Zaba's face.

It was David Pleat, the shiny-suited, pitch-dancing, kerb-crawling,whore-using former Spurs manager - what do you expect?

See the Kolorov bashes out in force again. Spurs game pace on the flanks Bale and Lennon completely nullified today part of that was due to Kolorov
Ak wasn't brilliant today. He was at fault (along with Yaya) for the Spurs goal. He also made some clumsy challenges and his crossing wasn't up to his usual standard.

Re: Adebayor on Zabaleta

His nose did look crooked and can't say I've noticed it before. I'd have been so wound up if I was zabba this match.

Totally deserved win. We made their supposedly dangerous players look like passengers. Dreadful goal that we conceded from one of too many unnecessary free kicks that we gave away.

Excellent day for Bobby, who has to take plaudits for his team selection and tactics. His team should have finished the game off earlier but at least managed two world class finishes.

Dzeko definitely better off the bench at the moment.

Even so he has much better stats than the other strikers. How bad are Aguero and Tevez than?

shit comment from you, really... You know nothing about Dzeko, that's what I'll tell you.

Now that I've enjoyed Hoddle and Redknapp's guttedness I have to say imo something important has happened there today--

The return of Silva gives us that utter unpredictability. His passing and vision are unplayable and he 'unlocks' teams beautifully. We already know this but that 'magic' has been missing so much this season.

However, a more important thing has happened.

We started to play with width. Maicon was hugging the touchline he was that wide. When he had the ball rather than doing the usual 'pass it back into the middle' routine we always do he actually, whisper it, ran at players, he even, whisper it even quieter, beat players and shock of all shocks actually drilled the ball across the 6 yard box.

Totally different 'dimension'. Spurs had fuck all they could do about it.

Huge kudos to Mancini. Went 'brave' with the 3-5-2, put on 'an old man who's finished and cant run', and it won us the fucking game

Finally, got to say I was really pleased with the effort, work rate and togetherness. Special mentions to Clichy and Zab, who as ever, were fucking animals.
Great summary. Merlin magic, the super sub, Zab and Clichy off howling into the night with the wolf pack.

All guts and got the glory.

Strange first half in which we conceded a goal through rank bad marking yet again ..... Kolarov and Yaya seemingly creating a 'gap' into which the Spurs scorer darted into to score ... and some pretty wayward passing from both sides , it has to be said.

Much better second half performance from City ... Silva started to pull the strings a bit , and we upped the anti , so much so that Spurs were looking increasingly rattled .... Spurs , though, might have scored through a late Bale effort , but generally we ran the show , had far more possession , and finally got the deserved winner ...... and you'd have to say, that in this instance , Mancinis changes worked.

We should have had two penalties too , in my opinion .... Agueros charge through on goal only stopped by Gallas's handball ...... and Zabalata definetely , and deliberately , charged off the ball as he darted into the area.
