I think that Maicon killed off any demons he has about facing Bale. Caught up to him to kick the ball out of Bale's feet and then raped him with a pass ahead and run around(would've been cooler if he had connected with the pass to himself, HA!)

3 at the back works, haters

Did we play 3 at the back? From my understanding we played Kolarov as an out and out midfielder. I couldn't count 3 players as CBs.

In other news, anyone catch the commentator when Zabaleta got elbowed "he made a meal of it". Cut to Zabaleta bleeding.

Did you lapse into a coma when Maicon came on and we went to 3 at the back then?

What I'm saying is that does starting a wide midfielder like Kolarov count considering we oft make these substitutions with Nasri on.

The way I saw it was:

Maicon-----Zabaleta-------Kompany-----Clichy

Even with Maicon off of the field I saw it as:

Zabaleta---Kompany----Nastasic----Clichy

Just because Kolarov is on doesn't make it a back 3. Unless we're operating under the assumption we started out with a back 3. We ended the game with as many defenders on the field as we started with.

When I heard this I couldn't believe it..... Seems like everyone is just biased against city it's so frustrating. I really wanted to see his face after the shot of Zaba's face.

The only thing Maicon has lost is a yard of pace but he did outpace Bale I think when a misplaced pass went past him?
You never lose your technical class and skill. He played some cracking passes today and didn't shy away from just bringing the ball down and playing it out.

Have to say Kolarov was shocking today, really disappointed that Sinclair didn't get on. Walker and Lennon weren't doing much and Sinclair if anything would have pushed back Walker even more.

Adebayor on Zabaleta

Looks like zaba ended up with a broken nose anybody got a clip? my initial reaction was that it was intentional and disgusting but sky didn't feel the need to show it much it's not like it was balotelli so understandable really.

when's the trial by media?

a yellow card suggests it was no more serious that the challenge zaba made on adebayor earlier on...
