Mourinho only got away with it last year because of our injuries can't remember exactly what team we put out but isn't that where we deployed MDM as defensive holding midfield player, and had no right back either.

Yes dinho and aguero injured but zaba was playing. Let's not ignore though Chelsea hit the woodwork 3 times and had the clown Luiz playing, a natural RB playing LB, a declining striker in Eto and well, Torres as the other option along with Ba. They were quite comfortable at Etihad where we were simply incredible and had a perfect record, thrashing teams right and left till then, not just bottom feeders but good sides too.

Think we`re being much too optimistic here, just because we beat Liverpool who`s midfield over-ran us.

Me and the lad will be down from Edinburgh for this one, getting very excited already, one of our 4 games a season trips. I'd like to see a bit of rotation here for this one. Bring in Sagna at right back and give Zabba an early rest, doesn't sound like Mangala will be ready which is a pity. Kolarov in for Clichy, I'd also rest Fernando and play Fernandinho, start Kun ahead of Edin with Jovetic behind.
Got a big squad and we need to plan ahead, start giving guys a rest will pay dividends later on.

Did you watch the corresponding fixture last year?
That was after we'd played Chelsea twice in the space of a month and drained ourselves against Barcelona in the Champions' League.

We'll batter these. 5-0.
I thought we played them after beating Chelsea in the Cup last year?
