I think we'd be better off replacing one of our strikers with someone a little more versatile. Balo seems the obvious choice given his inconsistent performances. Nasri only occasionally produces a dominating performance, but he does generally contribute over the course of 90 minutes.adrianr said:PhuketBlue said:We miss Silva's movement and creativity tremendously and we don't seem to have a player that can step into his role. Hope he's back soon.
I think next summer will be the time to decide if we just cut our losses with Nasri. If we can't integrate him with Silva then he's got to play like Silva when he's on his own. Unfortunately he does neither, but worse still, he doesn't seem to do anything else either. If you can't play like Silva then fine, perhaps wide forward? No. CM? Doubtful. Striker? With all our options not a chance.
He's a tidy footballer and seemingly a good personality, but ultimate he just feels like a player without a position. And we could still get very good money for him next summer if we decide to replace him with someone else (Ideally a dedicated pacey wide forward).
3 strikers and 3 deeper attackers seems more balanced than 4 and 2 to me. We need more ball players who link midfield and attack, create chances and retain possession further up the pitch.
If we want a pacy wide player, we should have bought one Mancini intended to use, rather than Sinclair.
