No pace, no pressing... Like our performances in CL.

There was, actually.

If you think that 3 out of 10 players are moving means pressing then ok but it's not enough for me. And won't be enough against Spurs, Ajax, Real and Chelsea next month.
Couldn't agree more !
I would even go as far to say only Tevez, after scoring, in those closing min. was lively - that's all

not the worst performance and a good three points against a good side.

Less doom and gloom would be good, Swansea are a decent side not fodder like a Wigan/Aston Villa.

That was like pulling teeth and watching city of old

Felt sorry for the guys up front as midfield just pissed about in the main

Agree we need Silva back pronto to play the killer pass they were waiting for

It's 3 points we move on. MOTD will probably slaughter us again so that's one to avoid

Playing crap and winning.

wtf are you on about now Billy?

You dont think we were resilient? Hart didn't play well? Kompany didnt play well? Mario didn't have an impact?

Which bit of that has made you lose your handbag?

We were hanging on against a side who we made look like a top 4 side. swansea could have had 2 or 3 ,we had about 3 attempts on goal...

We had 10 shots on goal. If you're going to support someone's point at least get your head straight.

If you're going to post about a match - at least watch it first!

Nasri offer us very little. He should be relaxed this year as he doesnt have international matches after his ban, but he sleeps most of the matches.

He was brought because of his skills, creative skills, passing skills. Unfortunately he is nowhere near as exciting player he was at Arsenal. There he scored good goals, had assists, was part of the attacks every time.

We cant play well with Silva+Nasri, but alone Nasri cant offer half as much as Silva.

Would like to see some real energy in the team maybe Sinclair has it.

Look at what a little energy boom in midfield (Tevez) helped us in 2nd half. Some pace, some energy, someone who doesnt turn back when pressed etc.

Was definitely not a great showing but the good teams win when they play badly.

Any news on Micah Richards. Commentator here in US said it looked like a torn ACL and that if that was the case then he would be out six months. If it is an ACL that seems awfully quick for a return. American football players take just about a year to return to the field and another year before they are absolutely 100%.

We miss Silva's movement and creativity tremendously and we don't seem to have a player that can step into his role. Hope he's back soon.

I think next summer will be the time to decide if we just cut our losses with Nasri. If we can't integrate him with Silva then he's got to play like Silva when he's on his own. Unfortunately he does neither, but worse still, he doesn't seem to do anything else either. If you can't play like Silva then fine, perhaps wide forward? No. CM? Doubtful. Striker? With all our options not a chance.

He's a tidy footballer and seemingly a good personality, but ultimate he just feels like a player without a position. And we could still get very good money for him next summer if we decide to replace him with someone else (Ideally a dedicated pacey wide forward).
I think we'd be better off replacing one of our strikers with someone a little more versatile. Balo seems the obvious choice given his inconsistent performances. Nasri only occasionally produces a dominating performance, but he does generally contribute over the course of 90 minutes.

3 strikers and 3 deeper attackers seems more balanced than 4 and 2 to me. We need more ball players who link midfield and attack, create chances and retain possession further up the pitch.

If we want a pacy wide player, we should have bought one Mancini intended to use, rather than Sinclair.

You're telling me. I'm still mystified (Along with everyone else I'm betting).

Good point about replacing a striker but even if we do I just don't see a place for Nasri. Drop Tevez back into his role and he's arguably better at it, but you can't swap Nasri round the other way.

I don't want to turn this into a 'we need 10 players next transfer window' post but we're also crying out for another Yaya. We need one in midfield and one in attack (not the imposter we have at the moment, the game winning big man we know and love). I still think we should have got Sahin, even if it was just on a loan deal. He was exactly what we were crying out for (To clarify I'm not saying he's like Yaya, just that we needed another CM who can pass like they both can). I imagine the only reason we didn't was in case he was a revelation and we'd just built a team around a loanee, which clearly wouldn't have been too smart, but at least it would have highlighted what the team was missing and we could plan for the summer accordingly, not to mention potentially defending our title along the way.
