City Vs Swansea post match discussion

You asked me a question and I answered it. If you genuinely believe I never give Mancini credit when it's due then I can be no more arsed with this discussion than you. Been a truly exhausting 36 hours for me and I've zero patience left for sniping.
Me neither, I'm happy with the win, in what I expected to be, and thought, was a difficult game against a decent side.

Was at the game today and been back about an hour now. Got to be said barring one of your fans (there's always one) I had a brilliant day at your stadium and fan area near the club store. Everyone was welcoming from the fans, Stewards, staff in the stadium and the police.

On performance I don't think it will be one to live long in the memory for you guys, in fact some have probably already forgotten it!

All the best for the rest of the season, apart from your next visit to the Liberty!
Glad you had a good day, I thought you played very well first half, but our change at half time, the goal, and injury took the stuffing out of you. Despite what you may read on here from others, I thought your manager had a good game plan, and you were unlucky not to make it pay in the first half. Play like that and you'll finish top half at least.

Mancini had a very bad day at the office on Wednesday night, a very bad day for me, and I said so, and he didn't start today too well either (wtf Kolarov was on the right I've no idea), but he sorted it out, is that not worth a bit of

Honestly, fuck no. Too many dropped bollocks this week. Mancini needs a fucking bollocking rather than credit for rectifying a truly amateur team selection. Credit where it's due. IMO it is anything but due today.

The players need more of a kick up the ass than Bobby does. I don't think Yaya walking around for the entire first half and Aguero barely doing anything (among other examples) were on the managers tactic board.

Kolarov would be justified in demanding a transfer after that. Asked to play out of position to start with, but making the best of it, then sacrificed because Nasri was stinking the place out on the right side, so Kolarov, a left fullback, has to play right wing because Nasri can't handle it, then gets taken off at half time, fair ?

Shocking management.

Apparently he got injured at half time.

Tbh, Mancini doesn't usually make any changes at half time but waits until the 65th minute or so before doing so, so i have no doubt that Kolarov would've stayed on.

For the first half, the players looked like they were deprived of morale and confidence. I wouldn't blame it on the effort, really. I'm just glad they were given a kick up the ass and played more like the usual City in the 2nd half.

Kolarov starting on the left wing was a huge mistake though, would have been better off having Balotelli, actually.

Tevez was outstanding.

I would start him in the free role he had in the second half, particularly while Silva is out.

Brian Clough always used to say that no manager tells his players to go out there and have a bad game. It's not a manager's fault if a player is walking around when he needs to be running to find space to be passed to in; it's the player's (especially when the manager has no other option on the bench for his position).

He also said that if a chairman sacks a manager, then he should be sacked too because he's the one who brought him in.

The senior players don't get enough stick for a poor performance in football. Some managers get sacked left right and centre for inept player's performances and many of the shitter players get stick for their limitations.

Of course managers make mistakes too. But Greame Souness has always said over the years that the manager is the most important person during the week and the captain and the senior players are the most important on the pitch. He's said his managers didn't have to tell him, as captain, what needed to change on the pitch - he told his team himself. He bollocked or motivated his teammates who were doing things wrong, and he was the one intimidating the oppotistion.

Because we don't have anyone like this in our team Roberto is always doing his nut on the sideline and Roberto took it upon himself to intimidate the opposition when he bollocked Ferguson and told him to stop chatting shit which got the crowd and the team going in last season's home derby.

As for yesterday's game; to say we looked tired was an understatement.

We didn't play well and got the three points. They're the most important three points you earn over the season in football.

Swansea impressed me too, well organised yes, quick on the counter too.

We werent at our best but won. Thats what champions do.
On paper a pretty limited bunch of players really, but they were well drilled, defended solidly as a 4 and 3 close together, worked hard without the ball, and were clever and quick with it on the attack.

They didn't create a huge amount, but they are a decent unit, and on their good days will cause our direct opponents as much grief as they caused us, and might nick a result.

I agree, and don't forget, you've still got to come to the Liberty (remember last year), some say we didn't cause you much grief but that could also be labeled at you (apart form the goal), Michu's one on one with Hart wasn't a wonder stop but Michu had pushed it half a yard to far and should have done what he done a couple of minutes previous. Anyway, a good game in which I felt we (Swansea) deserved a point but as you say, that's what champions do, win ugly.

Think you certainly need some quality in January if you are to retain the title and seriously how can you play Kolo, he must be 18st, got to be the biggest ass in the PL. I thought Jan Molby was big but he had nothing on this guy.

Looking forwards to another encounter at the Liberty where perhaps we can make it 2-2 in the series. Best of luck.
