City youngsters

If we get one from each EDS squad as a regular 1st teamer it will be an amazing achievement, rest will end up in lower perm teams/championship .......only saw 3 games this season and from those games, any of them 'making it' will need to improve... a lot.

Just do the maths....if the best player is 1st team regular from each age group....in 11 years wed have a team from say 19 to 30 yrs old.... take away the doubling of positions and you don't have many left, add signings, playing past 30 etc and it shows how few we will ever see outside carling cup.
Sorry, but the second part of that post is just daft. What makes you think only the best of each years batch would make it? It's not the X Factor where there's only 1 winner.

Then the chairman needs to resign, as he has once again stated that the aim of the club is to have half the team come from our academy in the near future.

Imo we have about 20 who could make it at City that I've seen but it will all depend on how they actually do, when used at first team level.

If they don't actually get used, they will lose heart & end up at Stockport etc, guaranteed. If they do get a chance, then some will make it, no doubt in my mind. Which ones, I don't know, as talent is only part of it. Vlad Weiss has more talent in his toe nail than half of the Premier League, but doesn't play in it.

Enes Unal, Jason Denayer, Patrick Roberts have Maybe a better chance under Pep..God even Bruno Zuculini has a better chance under Pep..

We have lots of players who may come through.

I'm interested in Jack Byrne & Alexi Garcia at the moment who I have high hopes for.

I think we can rely on them as back up to Sagna and Clichy.
This is what we should be aiming for. If the academy can regularly produce players that are at least good enough as backup for the first team, it will be doing its job imo. We'd save so much money on average players and worrying about filling the homegrown quota. If it occasionally then produces someone who becomes a starter, that's a bonus.

Barker, Angelino, Manu and Aleix Garcia, Byrne, Brahim, Sancho, Davenport and Maffeo will all be given a chance in the coming years. Expecting both Garcias, Brahim and Sancho to definitely take it.

I have a feeling Brahim might even play some games for us next year in the league cup. Pep tweeted about Brahim even when he was at Bayern. Pep loves him some Brahim.
