City's Global Fanbase

I've noticed that in Dublin too. More and more kids wearing City shirts. Was in a sports shop the other day and had a quick look at the football shirts, the usual football shirts were well stocked there - rags, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea. Then I spotted the City shirts, there wasn't any adult sizes but stacks of kid sizes.

Funny you should say that. I coach a junior football team in West Yorkshire so am constantly seeing large number of under 11 players at tournaments etc.

The majority shirt amongst this age group now is probably Barcelona but there are at least as many City shirts now as any other premier league team. Maybe even more.

I'm boarding the Lear jet now. Just waiting for the attendants to fluff my nuts.

i thought it was a gulf stream

I am from China, been here for more than a year but didn't comment much due to my forum lurking habbit and my not fluent english.I know there is a devoted fanbase in China. The number is not large but is glowing each year. Most of them are at a very young age(teen to early twenties from what I observed).I am 33 this year so I am older among them.I follow city mostly because of Pep and his style of football.I watched almost every game last year and I plan to continue to do so this year.I like bluemoon and many of you guys.
Ok back to lurking.
Welcome!

For info, there is an offshoot of the City Academy at Thomas Danny Colleage in Leeds.

I also hear there is growing support in North and South Yorkshire with plenty of kids training Inn a city shirts in Harrogate and Rotherham.

been a fan since 06, live in israel. my best friend was a rag and i decided to spite him off, started watching the team and really liked it. never been to manchester though, so hopefully one day :)

City are all over the kids here in Huddersfield. They bus kids and parents over to the Academy regularly and sign all the best. An 8 year old lad from my boys' school has just signed with them. There's also a City coach running soccer schools in HEckmonwyke and sometimes they do day trips to the stadium. He tips the club off if he sees anyone with ability.

It's good to hear. West Yorkshire has produced several England players over the last decade or two and like you say City are keen to snap up the talented youngsters.

It's just a shame that we have been drawn away in the Cup so many times over the last few seasons because the weekend Cup games are ideal for families coming from outside Manchester to experience a game or two.
